Job summary

AS Architects in Mumbai is seeking an on-site Interior Designer to develop design concepts, plan spaces, and translate ideas into drawings and presentations.

You will collaborate with architects and project teams, prepare layouts and material boards, coordinate FF&E, and ensure designs meet client requirements and budgets, with construction drawings and site reviews.

Qualifications

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Interior Designer role located in Mumbai. The Interior Designer will develop design concepts, plan interior spaces, and translate ideas into detailed drawings and presentations. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with architects and project teams, preparing layouts and material boards, coordinating FF&E selections, and aligning designs with client requirements and project budgets. The role also involves producing construction and working drawings, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and supporting site reviews to ensure design intent is executed accurately. The Interior Designer will participate in project meetings and contribute to maintaining studio design standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong Interior Design skills, including concept development and detailed design.
• Proficiency in Space Planning to optimize functionality, circulation, and user experience.
• Understanding of Architecture principles to coordinate interior solutions with overall building design.
• Ability to create accurate Construction Drawings and documentation for execution on site.
• Experience with FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection, specification, and coordination.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar), and presentation tools.
• Strong visual, technical, and material knowledge, including current design trends and sustainable design practices.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and time-management skills for working in a studio and on-site environment.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
• Prior experience in residential, commercial, or hospitality interior projects in a design studio or architecture firm is an advantage.
