Job summary

Qualifications

• B.Des/M.Des in Industrial/Product/Automotive Design or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of professional experience in industrial design, focusing on home appliances or related sectors.
• Robust portfolio demonstrating design process, creativity, and successful products.

Responsibilities

• Design Execution: Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models; develop prototypes for testing and refinement.
• Innovation: Identify opportunities for new product design and improvements; ensure user-centric designs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with engineering and manufacturing to ensure feasibility and requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Customer Intimacy: Research market trends and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
• Material and Process understanding: Knowledge of materials and manufacturing for cost efficiency and sustainability.
• Maintain awareness of current design trends and document new developments.
• NPD process: Understand milestones and ensure deliverables meet requirements.
• Design Documentation: Prepare detailed design specs and drawings for manufacturing and NPD.

JOB PURPOSE

Creating innovative and visually appealing home appliances that enhance everyday living. This role requires a strong foundation in design principles, creativity, and an eye for detail.

As a Senior Industrial Designer, you will lead design projects from concept to production with a strong focus on Design IPR creation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design Execution: Create detailed sketches, renderings, and 3D models to visualize design concepts, and develop high quality prototypes to test and refine designs.
• Innovation: Identifying opportunities for new and innovative product design and improvements to existing products, ensuring designs are user centric, aligning with brand design guidelines and ergonomically superior.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Customer Intimacy: Conduct market research and stay UpToDate with industry trends, consumer preferences, and technological advancements to inform design decisions.
• Material and Process understanding: Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes to achieve design intent, cost efficiency, and sustainability goals.
• Maintain awareness of current design trends, materials, and technologies in the home appliance industry and document.
• NPD process: Understand each milestones' deliverables and make sure the requirements are met
• Design Documentation: Creating detailed design specifications and technical drawings for manufacturing, along with maintaining and recording the entire design process for New Product Development (NPD) and Design Registration.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

B.Des/M.Des in Industrial/Product /Automotive Design, or an equivalent field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 5-10 years of professional experience in industrial design, with a significant focus on home appliances/lifestyle/lighting/automotive domain
• A robust portfolio demonstrating your design process, creativity, and successful products in the home appliance or similar sector.
