Job summary

Dreamspan Ventures is seeking an experienced Design & Development Manager to lead the complete product and design lifecycle from concept to production. You will manage design teams, develop production-ready solutions, drive innovation, and align outputs with business objectives.

This on-site role in Maharashtra requires mentoring cross-functional teams, ensuring manufacturability and cost-efficiency, maintaining design documentation, and coordinating with production, procurement, quality, sales

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in design and development.
• Experience in manufacturing or furniture/Interior fit-out/engineering/product development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product design and development activities from concept to final production release.
• Manage and supervise the design team to ensure timely delivery of design outputs and project milestones.
• Develop innovative, cost-effective, and production-feasible product solutions.
• Review and approve conceptual designs, technical drawings, prototypes, and final design documentation.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, sales, and project teams for seamless execution.
• Establish design standards, SOPs, and development processes across projects.
• Drive new product development (NPD), product enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure preparation and approval of working drawings, production drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Conduct design feasibility reviews considering manufacturing capability, installation, and cost optimization.
• Lead prototype development, testing, validation, and final product approvals.
• Monitor material selection, hardware specifications, finish standards, and technical compliance.
• Manage project timelines, development schedules, and resource allocation.
• Optimize product designs to improve quality, reduce cost, and minimize material wastage.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand design requirements and convert them into executable solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
• Maintain design documentation, revision control, and project records.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
• Mentor and develop team capabilities through training and technical guidance.
