Job summary

Srons Engineers invites a senior engineer to lead the complete commissioning and startup of a new imported 900 kW continuous heat-treatment line in Doraha, Punjab. You will coordinate electrical, mechanical, and process teams to ensure a smooth installation and successful production start.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience in heating, quenching and tempering of steel bars, with a strong background in metallurgy or mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• 8-15+ years relevant experience preferred.
• Strong experience in continuous heat treatment / Q&T of steel bars or similar products.
• Hands-on machine commissioning and startup essential.
• Metallurgical/Materials/Mechanical Engineering background preferred.
• Hands-on with heating, quenching, tempering and process control.
• Experience commissioning large industrial heat-treatment lines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complete installation and commissioning of the imported heat-treatment line.

• Establish preventive maintenance and daily production/quality reporting systems.

Job description

• Lead complete installation and commissioning of the imported heat-treatment line.
• Coordinate mechanical assembly, alignment, piping, electrical installation and instrumentation.
• Work with our local mechanical/electrical team during machine installation.
• Understand PLC, HMI, VFD, sensors, temperature controls and machine interlocks.
• Develop and optimize heating, quenching and tempering parameters for different steel grades and bar sizes.
• Establish production parameters for 25-75 mm high-tensile steel bars.
• Conduct trial production and achieve required tensile strength, yield strength, hardness and elongation.
• Troubleshoot heating, quenching, cooling, mechanical and electrical/process problems.
• Prepare SOPs, process sheets, inspection procedures and quality records.
• Train operators and maintenance personnel.
• Establish preventive maintenance and daily production/quality reporting systems.
• Coordinate with the overseas machine manufacturer remotely whenever technical clarification is required.Role & responsibilities

• Strong experience in continuous heat treatment / Q&T of steel bars, rods or similar products.
• Practical experience in machine commissioning and startup is essential.
• Metallurgical/Materials/Mechanical Engineering background preferred.
• Must have hands-on experience with heating, quenching, tempering and process control.
• Candidates who have personally commissioned similar large industrial heat-treatment lines will be strongly preferred.
