Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Limited is seeking a Senior Functional Safety professional to develop and maintain ISO 26262 work products across vehicle platforms. You will create definitions, hazard analyses, safety cases, and support FTA/FMEA/DFMEA activities.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers, participate in safety verifications, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience creating ISO 26262 work products.
• Experience creating and executing DIA and Safety Plans.
• Experience performing FTA, FMEA, DFMEA, and DFA analyses.
• Hands-on validation experience on Vehicle, HiL, and related environments.
• Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams and suppliers to meet milestones.
• Proficiency with engineering tools like Jira, Visio and Confluence.
• Experience leading or supporting periodic safety audits and assessments.
• Ability to train, coach, and mentor team on functional safety practices.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Develop and maintain Functional Safety work products in accordance with ISO 26262.
• Create Item Definition, HARA, FSC, TSC, Safety Plans, DIA, and Safety Case documentation.
• Perform and support FTA, FMEA, DFMEA, and DFA activities.
• Participate in safety verification and validation activities on Vehicle, HiL, and related platforms.
• Support functional safety audits, assessments, reviews, and compliance activities.
• Coordinate with cross functional teams, and suppliers.
• Promote functional safety awareness and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Experience 3+ years of experience in Functional Safety compliance activities

Industry Preferred Qualifications

B.E / M.E in EEE, ECE, CSE , IT

General Requirements

• Hands‑on experience creating Item Definition, HARA, FSC, TSC, and Safety Case work products.
• Experience creating and executing Development Interface Agreements (DIA) and Safety Plans.
• Experience performing FTA, FMEA, DFMEA, and DFA analyses.
• Hands‑on validation experience on Vehicle, HiL, and related validation environments.
• Experience interfacing and coordinating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to meet product milestones.
• Proficiency in Medini Analyze, Jira, Visio, Confluence, and related engineering tools.
• Experience leading or supporting periodic safety audits and assessments.
• Ability to train, coach, and mentor team members on functional safety practices and safety culture.
• Strong knowledge of all parts of ISO 26262 and their practical application.
• Automotive embedded systems experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of automotive development lifecycle and ASPICE is an advantage.
