Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Limited in Chennai, India is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer for Functional Safety to develop and maintain ISO 26262 work products across vehicle domains. You will perform FTA, FMEA, DFMEA, and DFA analyses, support verification and validation on Vehicle and HiL environments, and drive safety audits and continuous improvements.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers, you will promote a strong safety culture and mentor junior engineers, leveraging experience

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience creating Item Definition, HARA, FSC, TSC, and Safety Case work products.
• Experience developing DIA and Safety Plans.
• Experience performing FTA, FMEA, DFMEA, and DFA analyses.
• Hands-on validation experience on Vehicle, HiL and other environments.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and ASPICE benefits.

Lead Engineer- VES Responsibilities & Key Deliverables Develop and maintain Functional Safety work products in accordance with ISO 26262. Create Item Definition, HARA, FSC, TSC, Safety Plans, DIA, and Safety Case documentation. Perform and support FTA, FMEA, DFMEA, and DFA activities. Participate in safety verification and validation activities on Vehicle, HiL, and other environments. Support functional safety audits, assessments, reviews, and compliance activities. Coordinate with cross functional teams, and suppliers. Promote functional safety awareness and contribute to a strong safety culture. Experience 7+ years of experience in Functional Safety compliance activities.

Industry Preferred Qualifications

• B.E / M.E in EEE, ECE

General Requirements

• Hands-on experience creating Item Definition, HARA, FSC, TSC, and Safety Case work products.
• Experience creating and executing Development Interface Agreements (DIA) and Safety Plans.
• Experience performing FTA, FMEA, DFMEA, and DFA analyses.
• Hands-on validation experience on Vehicle, HiL, and other environments.
• Good system level knowledge on any vehicle level functions like Powertrain, Chassis, Body etc Experience interfacing and coordinating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to meet product milestones.
• Proficiency in Medini Analyze, Jira, Visio, Confluence, and related engineering tools.
• Experience leading or supporting periodic safety audits and assessments.
• Ability to train, coach, and mentor team members on functional safety practices and safety culture.
• Strong knowledge of all parts of ISO 26262 and their practical application.
• Automotive embedded systems experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of automotive development lifecycle and ASPICE is an advantage.
