Experience Required: 3 to 4 Yrs
Job Location: Lower Parel, Mumbai (Mon-Fri - WFO)
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Senior Functional QA Engineer to test the business-critical financial applications modules, Pledging of shares, clearing and settlement, and payment modules of a leading Indian depository. This is an individual contributor role. You will own your modules end to end, from understanding requirements to signing off test results. That frees your Functional Lead to focus on coverage, risks and stakeholders rather than day-to-day follow-ups.
Study requirements from the business point of view, list your questions, and get them answered before test design starts.
Design, execute and maintain test cases for your modules with little supervision, and keep test evidence complete and audit-ready.
Think through how real business scenarios can break, prepare the data they need, and flag data that is missing, incorrect or sensitive.
Confirm that builds, environments, data and dependencies are ready before you start testing, and tell your lead early when they are not.
Log clear, reproducible defects with their business impact, follow them through triage, fix and retest, and flag at once any defect that blocks your testing.
Raise dependencies, blockers and delay risks as soon as you see them, with facts and a suggested action, not just the problem.
Keep your progress, defects and risks up to date in the tracker so that your lead never has to chase you for status.
Review peers' test cases when asked, share what you learn, and work in harmony with developers, business analysts and fellow testers.
