Job summary

INI Design Studio in Ahmedabad is seeking a Fire Protection Senior Engineer with 5 to 8 years of core design experience to own the engineering, design and calculation of advanced fire safety systems. You will bridge concepts to execution, ensuring designs are robust and compliant with NFPA, NBC, and local guidelines.

The role involves system design of active and passive fire protection, hydraulic calculations, BIM/CAD drafting in AutoCAD, and document preparation including BOQ.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of water-based and gas-based suppression systems.
• Knowledge of fire dynamics and hazardous area classification.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or fire protection engineering is required.

• Site & Project Support: address RFIs and support design reviews.

Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Protection Senior Engineer with 5 to 8 years of core design experience at Ahmedabad office. In this role, you will take ownership of the engineering, design, and calculation of advanced fire safety systems. You will bridge the gap between initial concepts and final execution, ensuring all designs are robust, fully compliant, and seamlessly integrated with other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design: The design and detailing of active fire protection systems (sprinklers, water spray, foam, gas, and fire pumps) and passive system recommendations.
• Hydraulic & Engineering Calculations: Perform independent hydraulic modelling, pump head calculations, and pipe sizing .
• Code Compliance: Ensure all design layouts strictly adhere to NFPA, national building codes (NBC), and local authority guideline.
• BIM & CAD Engineering: Develop and review 2D drawings using AutoCAD. Knowledge of BIM modelling has advantage.
• Documents: Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ); evaluate technical data sheet.
• Site & Project Support: Provide technical solutions to site teams, address requests for information (RFIs), and participate in design review meetings.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Fire Protection Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience in fire protection design within an engineering consultancy or EPC environment.
• Core Skills: Deep understanding of water-based and gas-based suppression systems, fire dynamics, and hazardous area classification.
