About Role

We are looking for a Senior Finance & Accounting Manager to lead financial accounting, management reporting, accounting operations, payroll, statutory compliance, and tax activities for Milestone India, while supporting reporting requirements across India and US entities. The role will own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information and partner closely with the broader finance team and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise across accounting, US GAAP and Indian GAAP, payroll, statutory payments, taxation, audits, and financial controls, with the ability to operate effectively in a multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage end-to-end accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations for India and US entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure timely month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial closing.
• Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with applicable US GAAP and Indian GAAP accounting standards.
• Collaborate within the finance team and across departments to provide accurate financial information and insights for decision-making.

Accounting Operations & Payroll Management

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursement.
• Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave, reimbursements, incentives, and statutory deductions.
• Ensure compliance with payroll-related laws and maintain accurate employee payroll records.

Statutory Payments & Taxation

• Ensure timely payment and filing of statutory dues including GST, TDS, Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund where applicable, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory liabilities.
• Reconcile statutory ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
• Liaise with tax consultants and regulatory authorities during assessments and audits.

Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST regulations, labour laws, and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Maintain statutory registers and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls and compliance processes.
• Ensure timely renewal of licenses, registrations, and statutory certifications.
• Strengthen internal controls and recommend process improvements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a finance and accounting professional with 8+ years of relevant experience and strong hands-on ownership of accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, taxation, statutory compliance, and audits. The candidate should be comfortable working across India and US operations, interpreting accounting requirements under US GAAP and Indian GAAP, and partnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors. Strong attention to detail, ownership, communication, and process-improvement orientation are essential.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
• Experience managing accounting operations and financial reporting for India operations; exposure to US operations is preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with payroll, statutory compliance, taxation, reconciliations, and audits.
• Experience working with multinational organizations is an advantage.
• 3+ years of audit firm experience preferred.

Qualifications

• MBA (Finance) or equivalent Masters degree in Finance.
