Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Facade Consultant in Bengaluru to lead facade design, detailing and documentation across design and construction stages. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with Euro/British and American codes, while guiding junior staff and ensuring high-quality outputs.

Bring a minimum of 10 years of facade experience, strong CAD/3D tool proficiency, and a passion for sustainable, integrated design.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of facade design and detailing experience.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems & their materials.
• Knowledge of EURO/British Codes, American Codes.
• Advanced in AutoCAD (2D/3D), Sketchup, Revit, Rhino and 3D workflows.
• Proficient understanding of weather performance, standards and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of building physics- ventilation, thermal insulation, solar gain, glare control
• Basic knowledge in façade structural design
• Awareness of sustainability and whole life design considerations.
• Experience working with multiple design disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver facade design engineering, technical detailing and documentation addressing project specific challenges.
• Work closely with the Team Leader/Project Leader on technical decision making.
• Support project teams during implementation through inspections, quality reviews, and reporting.
• Independently complete defined work packages with limited supervision
• Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of assigned deliverables
• Prepare project reports and documentation using standard BH templates
• Liaise with architects and multidisciplinary consultants to ensure coordinated design solutions.
• Prepare facade engineering documentation using CAD and analysis tools
• Guide and support the drafting teams to ensure accurate and timely outputs.

Your next role

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineering/Professional Engineer or working towards certification preferred.
• Deliver facade design engineering, technical detailing and documentation addressing project specific challenges.

Your Skills And Experience

• Minimum 10 years of facade design and detailing experience.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems & their materials.
• The role requires knowledge of the following key façade engineering code frameworks – EURO/British Codes, American Codes.
• Advanced in AutoCAD (2D/3D), experience working with Sketchup, Revit, Rhino and 3D workflows.
• Proficient understanding of weather performance, standards and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of building physics- ventilation, thermal insulation, solar gain, glare control
• Basic knowledge in façade structural design
• Awareness of sustainability and whole life design considerations.
• Experience working with multiple design disciplines.

• Experience to fabrications and handling processes of façade materials
• International project experience
• Familiarity with architectural component detailing and client vision management.
