Buro Happold in India seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer with 15+ years in building environments to lead the electrical discipline on projects spanning airports, malls, and large infrastructure. You will own client relationships, craft innovative design solutions, and steer teams through complex electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering as stated.
• 15+ years’ experience in building environments with electrical design.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of ELV, Fire alarm, low voltage and BMS systems.
• Understanding HT/LT power distribution and transformer/DG/UPS selections.
• Domain expertise in codes and standards relevant to the field.
• Mentor capability for junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical discipline on projects and manage client relationships.
• Communicate with clients, offering innovative design solutions and manage expectations.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work.
• Manage workload of engineers and technicians.

Your next role

• Lead the electrical discipline on projects on behalf of the group (operating as Job or Project Leader as appropriate), taking ownership for sustained and productive client relationships.
• Communicating directly with Clients, offering innovative design solutions and managing expectations. Further developing relationships with existing and new clients including contractors, architects and developers.
• Preparing technical and financial proposals for new work.
• Managing workload of engineers and technicians
• Monitor financial performance of jobs as well as setting up and managing job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure.
• Undertake project technical/quality reviews and attend design reviews for projects. Undertake site visits as needed for the smooth operation of the project(s).
• Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that Buro Happold policy is in keeping with current legislation, Indian Standards and Codes of Practice.
• Having a hands-on approach to all technical aspects of this role and being a domain expert to your team.
• Embracing technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet to net zero targets by 2030.
• Ensuring projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budget.
• Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines, in group discussions and at events and seminars.
• Autonomously represents Buro Happold to clients, architects and collaborators.

Your Skills And Experience

As an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer, we would expect that you will be able to demonstrate:

• 15+ Years of Experience in building environment
• An enthusiasm for delivering simple effective solutions to solve complex problems.
• Proven ability to manage a team. A respected designer of electrical engineering systems with experience across a broad range of sectors
• The ability to accept a high degree of responsibility for project technical and financial performance.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, able to develop relationships with clients, architects and other team members.
• Understanding of ELV, Fire alarm, low voltage systems and BMS system.
• Understanding of HT/LT – power distribution networks.
• Understanding about the transformer selection, DG selection, UPS selections, product approval process. Factory acceptance and Site acceptance tests etc.
• Although electrically biased it is expected that you will have a good understanding of other design disciplines or other utility.
• Domain expertise in codes and standards in your field.
• Being that Mentor you wanted to have / had when you were a Junior Engineer.
• A Bachelor's degree BEng/BSc or Master's degree MEng/MSc in a relevant discipline.
