Job summary

Tekman India seeks a capable Project Scheduling and Coordination professional to lead work-order scheduling, milestone tracking, and multidisciplinary coordination across mechanical and automation domains. The role involves ensuring timely design, procurement, fabrication, and testing activities, with close interaction across Design, Engineering, Procurement and Quality teams.

You will monitor long-lead items, coordinate FAT/SAT, oversee site installation and handover, and maintain project cost

Responsibilities

• Work Order-wise Project Scheduling: Prepare and maintain project schedules for each Work Order, ensuring timely execution of milestones.
• Milestone Monitoring: Track timelines and progress to ensure on-time completion.
• Design and Engineering Coordination: Coordinate with Design and Engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Procurement Follow-up: Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of items.
• Long-Lead and Major Item Tracking: Monitor vessels, fabrication, machining, control panels, and vacuum systems.
• Dispatch and Inspection Coordination: Track dispatch and coordinate FATs.
• Site Installation and Handover: Coordinate site installation, SAT, and project handover.
• Project Cost and Schedule Control: Monitor costs and adherence to plans.
• Customer Coordination: Conduct periodic meetings to review progress and concerns.
• Project Status Reporting: Provide status reports to stakeholders in prescribed formats.
• Risk and Delay Management: Identify risks and coordinate corrective actions.
• Change Request Management: Manage change requests with Marketing and Sales as needed.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Work Order-wise Project Scheduling: Prepare and maintain project schedules for each Work Order, ensuring timely execution and completion of project milestones.
2. Milestone Monitoring: Closely monitor project milestones, timelines, and overall progress to ensure on-time project completion.
3. Design and Engineering Coordination: Coordinate with Design and Engineering teams to ensure timely completion of engineering activities and resolution of project-related issues.
4. Procurement Follow-up: Follow up with the Procurement team for critical items to ensure timely availability as per the project schedule.
5. Long-Lead and Major Item Tracking: Track the progress and delivery status of long-lead items and major project components, including:

• Vessels and major fabrication items
• Machining items
• Control panels and electrical items
• Vacuum pumping system sub-assemblies

1. Dispatch and Inspection Coordination: Monitor the dispatch status of major items and coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as per project requirements.
2. Site Installation and Handover: Coordinate site installation, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and project handover to ensure timely completion and closure.
3. Project Cost and Schedule Control: Monitor project costs, schedule adherence, and overall project progress to ensure completion within planned timelines and budgets.
4. Customer Coordination: Conduct periodic customer meetings to review project progress, discuss pending activities, address concerns, and communicate project status.
5. Project Status Reporting: Prepare and provide regular project status reports to internal stakeholders and customers in their respective prescribed formats.
6. Risk and Delay Management: Identify and manage project risks, monitor potential delays, and coordinate corrective actions to minimize their impact on project execution.
7. Change Request Management: Manage project change requests and coordinate with the Marketing and Sales teams for revision of commercial terms and conditions, wherever necessary.

Preferred candidate profile

• Good knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and Automation.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective internal communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and PowerPoint (PPT).
• Knowledge of Project Management (PM) principles, tools, and techniques.
