Job summary

Asian Paints in Dahej, Gujarat, is seeking a hands-on Shift Incharge to supervise manufacturing operations and ensure safe, efficient production to meet planned outputs and quality specs. The role requires coordinating with maintenance, QA, and EHS teams, driving improvements in cost, labor, and process performance.

The incumbent will handle safety protocols, PSSR activities, and daily/monthly reporting, while utilizing SAP/MES tools to maintain accurate production data and docs.

Qualifications

• Supervising manufacturing processes with focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with high pressure reactors, distillation columns, catalytic reactors, gas compressors, and both continuous and batch plants.

Responsibilities

• Produce required quantities per specifications from Planning.
• Coordinate with maintenance and other engineers to improve production, costs, and labor efficiency.
• Diagnose line problems and provide corrective recommendations and training.
• Establish safety procedures minimizing risk and carbon footprint.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering and production advances and share with team.
• Coordinate with RM, dispatch, QA and EHS teams for smooth operations.
• Ensure timely product dispatch meeting quality requirements.
• Lead PSSR, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for projects.
• Manage plant manufacturing facilities during shifts and ensure EHS compliance.
• Perform SAP and MES tasks as per daily/monthly requirements.

Business Responsibility Areas

• Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.


• Hands on operational experience on handing high pressure reactors, continuous distillation columns, catalytic reactors, process gas compressors scrubbers etc. continuous as well as batch plants


• To ensure production of required quantity of each product as per the specification given by the Planning team


• Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor required.


• Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.


• Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers well-being into account, and that also minimize the carbon footprint.


• Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing knowledge with co-workers.


• Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices.


• Any operational Issues need to be coordinated with the maintenance team and should be resolved by following all safety protocols like Permit system.


• Liasoning with RM team, dispatch team, QA and EHS team


• Ensure timely Product dispatch along with quality requirements


• Exposer to management of change.


• Should have basic trouble shooting skills for correcting any process deviations during the shift to ensure the required quality & quantity of the Product.


• Drawing up production as per schedules & budgets.


• Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.


• Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.


• Obtaining any materials and equipment required.


• Leading for the PSSR, pre-commissioning & commissioning activities supporting for the project requirement-based activities.


• Responsible for all the manufacturing facilities in the plant during the shift operations.


• Comply Organization EHS policy on site


• Supporting team for maintaining PSM site requirements.


• Daily DCS trend analyses and reporting


• Daily production report, monthly production report and annual report development and communication


• Raw material planning


• System Documentation development based on requirement.


• Manpower management, scheduling and maintaining shifts manpower requirements.


• Performing SAP and MES work based on daily and monthly requirements and generating data based on requirement

Key Performance Indicators

• Meeting the Monthly Production Targets without compromising the SOPS, Quality & EHS norms.


• Achieving the targeted RM efficiencies.
