Job summary

Saint-Gobain India - Insulation Business is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support plant operations across mainline, Rigid Pipe Section Line, and Briquette plant. The role involves planning, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The candidate will drive KPI dashboards, coordinate with QA and Customer Service to ensure high quality and timely deliveries, and manage training to keep the team skilled and compliant with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to work permits, PPE training and safety standards.
• Review production plans for mainline, Rigid Pipe Section Line and Briquette plant.
• Develop and monitor dashboards to track KPI on SQDCME.
• Control production plan as per SAP.
• Coordinate with QA and Customer Service to optimize plans for best yield and timely delivery.
• Update MIS daily with zero deviation.
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for quality complaints and equipment breakdowns.
• Lead continual improvements to reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.
• Ensure equipment health via AM checks and timely maintenance requests.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance per SAP schedules.
• Plan yearly capex and general budget with Plant Head – Silvassa.
• Ensure availability of critical production consumables within budget.
• Plan and organize on-the-job training for team updates and multi-skilling.
• Adhere to QMS and SOPs; conduct process, product and safety audits.

Job description

• Ensure adherence to work permits / Job Safety by generating awareness & training & adherence of PPE.
• Adherence to Environmental Standards & initiate measures for recycling.
• Reviewing the production plan for both mainline, Rigid Pipe Section Line and Briquette plant
• Develop & monitor Dashboard to track KPI on SQDCME.
• Ensure & Control Production Plan as per SAP.
• Coordinate with quality assurance and Customer Service Dept. to implement optimized plan for best yield & customer satisfaction throughbest quality & timely delivery.
• Ensure daily update of MIS with zero deviation.
• Be part of the team to do root cause analysis & CAPA for quality complaints, defects & equipment breakdowns.
• Lead continual improvements to improve Quality, skill, operating costs and Customer Satisfaction
• Ensure equipment healthy by ensuring basic AM checks & timely requests for maintenance service.
• Coordinate with Maintenance & ensure implementation of Preventive Maintenance Plan / schedules as per due dates and SAP.
• Plan yearly Capex & general budget, coordinating with Plant Head – Silvassa and ensure implementation within budget and agreedtimelines.
• Review, monitor & ensure availability of critical production consumables within the budget.
• Plan & organize on the job training to keep the team updated with improvements /unique problem resolution/ multi skilling etc.
• Ensure to strictly adhere QMS plan & comply SOPs.
• Conduct new products & process trials timely and make it operational on approval.
• Conduct Process, Product & Safety Audits at defined intervals and implement the action plans within due dates.
• Ensure 5 'S' & general discipline & follow code of conduct on shop-floor.
• Lead by example to ensure punctuality, high moral & team work.
