Job summary

DTDC Express seeks a Senior Executive First Mile Operations to lead daily pickup execution and origin-hub connectivity across the express parcel network. You will oversee field rider deployment, pickup SLA enforcement, origin scanning compliance, and seamless handover to regional hubs.

You will plan and monitor pickups for enterprise clients, D2C sellers, retail outlets, and franchisees, optimizing routes and fleet usage while ensuring scanning accuracy and KPI tracking on MS Excel dashboards.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience handling First Mile, Pickup, or Hub Operations within Express Logistics, Courier, or E-commerce industries.
• Graduate in any stream (B.Com / B.Sc / BBA / B.Tech).
• Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), mobile scanner apps, and MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Strong understanding of local geographic routes, hub-and-spoke networks, vehicle load factor calculation, and origin audit procedures.
• Strong on-ground pressure handling, field staff management, and quick bottleneck resolution.

• Supervise field pickup executives, delivery associates, and 3PL vendor performance.

We are seeking a proactive Senior Executive First Mile Operations to lead daily pickup execution and origin-hub connectivity across our express parcel and logistics network. You will be responsible for field rider deployment, pickup SLA enforcement, origin scanning compliance, and seamless handover to regional processing hubs.

Key Responsibilities

• First Mile Execution & Fleet Dispatch:
  • Plan and monitor daily pickup schedules across enterprise clients, D2C sellers, retail outlets, and franchisee networks.
  • Optimize pickup routes and vehicle allocations to lower cost-per-pickup and maximize fleet capacity.
• Scan Compliance & Data Integrity:
  • Enforce 100% origin/inbound scanning using handheld devices/TMS before shipments leave pickup points.
  • Maintain physical-to-system tally accuracy during vehicle loading and hub handover.
• Hub Cutoff & Network Connectivity:
  • Coordinate movement between pickup routes and regional processing hubs to meet air, train, and linehaul cutoffs.
  • Prevent bottlenecking at hub unloading docks during peak operational hours.
• Rider & Vendor Governance:
  • Supervise field pickup executives, delivery associates, and 3PL vendor performance.
  • Track attendance, pickup productivity, vehicle run sheets, and fuel/fleet expenses.
• Issue Resolution & Reporting:
  • Handle ground-level escalations regarding missed pickups, excess volume surges, address discrepancies, and weight disputes.
  • Track daily operational KPIs including Pickup Success Rate (PSR), missed pickup count, and rider utilization on MS Excel / MIS dashboards.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience handling First Mile, Pickup, or Hub Operations within Express Logistics, Courier, or E-commerce industries.
• Education: Graduate in any stream (B.Com / B.Sc / BBA / B.Tech).
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), mobile scanner apps, and MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of local geographic routes, hub-and-spoke networks, vehicle load factor calculation, and origin audit procedures.
• Soft Skills: Ability to handle on-ground pressure, manage field staff, and resolve operational bottlenecks quickly.
