Responsibilities

  • Manage civil, labour, and criminal litigation; coordinate with external advocates and attend court proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and execute service, employment/HR, vendor, lease, NDA, and other contracts within defined timelines.
  • Draft legal notices, replies, representations, police complaints, and other legal correspondences.
  • Support Right of Way, title verification, lease documentation, and regulatory matters.
  • Coordinate with police, authorities, and regulatory bodies for legal/compliance matters.
  • Maintain legal correspondences, contract repositories, trackers, and CLM tooling; assist in legal audits.

Job description

Role Summary

Provide legal support to the business by managing litigation, commercial contracts, legal notices, police complaints, and contract lifecycle management. The role requires close coordination with business teams, external counsel, public authorities, and cross-functional stakeholders to safeguard the Company's legal and commercial interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage civil, labour, and criminal litigation, coordinate with external advocates, attend court proceedings, prepare case briefs, and maintain litigation trackers.
  • Draft, review, negotiate and execute commercial agreements, including service, employment/HR contracts, vendor, lease, NDA, infrastructure and other business contracts within defined turnaround timelines.
  • Draft legal notices, replies, representations, police complaints and other legal correspondence.
  • Support business teams on Right of Way(RoW), reach expansion, title verification, lease documentation and regulatory matters.
  • Coordinate with police, government authorities and regulatory bodies for legal and compliance matters.
  • Maintain legal correspondences, contract repositories, trackers, e-data room, ensure timely contract renewals, and support implementation of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool, support in legal audits.
  • Work closely with Business, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, HR, Corporate Legal and external counsel to provide practical legal advice.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Good practical knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, Sale of Goods Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, BNS/BNSS and other criminal laws, civil laws, law of torts, property laws.
  • Skilled in drafting, negotiation, litigation management, legal research, analysis, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to independently handle court matters, manage multiple assignments and deliver within strict timelines
  • Basic knowledge of telecom & DoT/TRAI regulations, IT, information security and data protection laws will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate
  • LL.B. from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in litigation and commercial legal work.Must Know to read, write & speak Kannada language. Must be ready to stretch the working hours if necessary.
  • Experience in handling court matters, contract drafting and negotiations, and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in the telecom, ISP, technology or other in-house legal environment will be an added advantage.
