Job summary

Lucy Electric Ltd. in India invites applications for a procurement engineer to support global sites. You will source new suppliers, review drawings and specifications, conduct should-cost analyses, and coordinate due diligence with internal teams to ensure alignment with global standards.

The role requires five years in a factory environment, BE Mechanical, and fluency in English and Hindi. Expect 30% travel and active participation in digitization and QMS policy adherence.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical is required and five years of factory experience are expected.
• Must be able to read drawings and specifications and develop suppliers with techno-commercial insight.
• Strong understanding of machined, welded, fabricated, molded, insulation parts and raw material sheets.

Job Purpose

Support the global Lucy electric sites for procurement & new product development.

Job Context

Individual global commodity role.

Job Dimensions

• Delivery OTIF: 98% at least
• Quality PPM: 250 for the assigned commodities.
• Cost: 5 % reduction in spend for the assigned commodities.
• QMS/ Contract management: 100 % adherence to QMS, its continual improvement & contract sign off.
• Digitization: Use of digital tools & hand hold with supplies for industry 4.0 practices
• Comply with Global Purchasing Policy

Key Accountabilities

These will include:

• Source new suppliers as per QMS/GPP guidelines of global LE.
• Engineering drawing / specification review.
• Should cost analysis for the requirements.
• Coordinate with technical internal stake older for the due diligence of new suppliers/ parts to be developed.
• Float formal enquiries in favour of LE global.
• Handhold with suppliers for development & pass through the samples as per Global standards.
• Tool / die development along with its contract & log sheet management.
• Supplier improvement for quality & delivery.
• Cost reduction for existing sources YoY.
• Adhere to Global purchasing group policy.
• Travel 30 %.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• BE Mechanical
• At least five years of work experience in factory environment.
• Hands on experience to read drawings, specifications & develop suppliers in context with techno commercial aspects.
• Thorough knowledge of Machined, welded, fabricated, moulded, insulation parts & raw material sheets.
