Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end direct procurement of APIs, excipients, chemicals, solvents, and other raw materials as per production needs.
• Review purchase requisitions and coordinate with Production, R&D, Warehouse, and other user departments for timely material availability.
• Handle vendor sourcing, enquiry, quotation evaluation, comparative analysis, commercial negotiation, and finalization of suppliers.
• Drive cost optimization, price negotiation, payment terms, lead-time improvement, and procurement efficiency while ensuring quality and compliance requirements.
• Prepare, approve, release, amend, and close Purchase Orders (POs) timely.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply of critical raw materials by monitoring inventory, lead times, open POs, and upcoming production requirements.
• Manage domestic and import procurement activities, customs clearance, LC, and import documentation.
• Coordinate logistics and shipment planning for domestic procurement, imports, and contract manufacturing sites.
• Develop and manage vendor relationships and coordinate new vendor development, Vendor Qualification (VQ), requalification, and vendor performance evaluation.
• Monitor vendor performance regarding quality, cost, delivery, service, and compliance, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare and review MIS, procurement dashboards, cost analyses, pending PO reports, savings reports, vendor performance reports, and management presentations.
• Prepare, review, and implement SOPs, GMP/quality requirements, and applicable compliance standards.
• Provide regular procurement updates to senior management, highlighting critical material risks, supply issues, cost-saving opportunities, vendor concerns, and action plans, while ensuring timely execution of procurement activities.
