Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the product development process for compliance with government standards, customer requirements and specifications, engineering and manufacturing principles, and company standards to achieve profitability and craftsmanship expectations. Knowledge of government and OEM specifications in the area of expertise.
  • Manage timely product releases and engineering changes that adhere to program schedules. Oversees design studies and engineering changes for communication and standardization.
  • Participate in program review management meetings with customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Flag issues in a timely manner and present resolution plans.
  • Communicate with the customer, suppliers and within the company to ensure timely and effective completion of engineering commitments.
  • Assure high productivity while maintaining reasonable expectations of the engineering team.
  • Monitor metrics that demonstrate the effectiveness of the engineering release. Proficient with design processes and release methods.
  • Document lessons learned, provide the information to other team members to deploy the same across other engineering programs by updating engineering best practices, guidelines, DFMEA and other engineering tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines.
  • Recruit, coach and counsel employees for success, conduct performance reviews and assist employees with career development planning and training. Provide direction and support to co‑ops, interns and apprentices as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company, departmental and health and safety systems and policies to meet legislative requirements.

Plan, track & present engineering budget to management.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Production or Automobile Engineering.
