Job summary

Magna Electronics seeks an experienced design engineer to develop automotive components using CATIA V5/V6 and Windchill PLM. You will drive DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and validation activities across NPD and EPD programs, collaborating with CAE teams and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and quality.

You will generate EBOMs, release drawings with GD&T, and support production launches while maintaining strict documentation control and compliance with IATF 16949 standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with CATIA V5/V6 and PLM Windchill.

Responsibilities

  • Develop plastic, sheet metal, machined, and cast components with manufacturability and assembly in mind.
  • Prepare drawings for components, sub-assemblies and assemblies with GD&T annotations.
  • Generate and maintain EBOM and support NPD/EPD activities.
  • Perform DFMEA and support DFA, DFM, FEA, tolerance stack-up and design validation activities.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses using Excel and Monte Carlo methods.
  • Support product validation including DV, PV, environmental, vibration, durability and reliability testing.
  • Collaborate with CAE teams to optimize product performance.
  • Modify designs and update drawings per engineering changes; maintain Windchill documentation.
  • Ensure release management, version control and documentation compliance.
  • Support PPAP, APQP, prototype builds and production launches.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • Interact with customers and internal teams to understand technical requirements; collaborate with global teams.
