Job summary

Bajaj Electricals Limited seeks a Mold and Die design professional with 5–10 years of experience in consumer durable and automotive sectors to lead tooling development and ensure manufacturability.

The role involves RFQ documentation, tool design reviews, DFM of parts, collaboration with tool makers, and participation in NPD to ensure smooth production and quality.

Qualifications

• B Tech with PG Diploma in Mold & Die Designs from CIPET/NTTF/TRTC.
• 5–10 years of experience in consumer durable, consumer electronics, industrial products, automotive industries.
• Experience in tooling, tool design, DFM/PPAP documentation and related activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in RFQ documentation with technical specs, tool target cost estimation and DFM of parts and tools.
• Assist tool engineer to define machine and mold size based on part designs under consideration.
• Participate in tool design reviews for reliability and quality of tools and end components.
• Assist in reviewing tool development plans, milestones, and follow through with tool makers for timely development.
• Attend trials, report observations and coordinate with vendors for changes and commissioning.
• On-field inspection and dispatch inspection of tools, providing inputs to mold maker prior to dispatch.

Role & responsibilities

Mold and Die design

• Assist in Making RFQ document with tech specifications, Tool Target Cost Estimation and DFM of Parts and tools
• Assist tool engineer to define machine and mold size basis part designs under consideration
• Participate in tool design review and provide insights for smooth operations, reliability, improved consistency in quality of tools and in turn end components.

Mold and Die Development

• Assist tool design team in reviewing the tool development plan, identify critical milestones, critical path and follow through the same with tool maker for ensuring timely development of the tools
• Critically evaluate the tool design readiness during various stages and specific parts responsible for CTQ dimensions of the end parts and update the same to internal teams and tool room
• Attend trials and report out trial observations
• Assist in follow-up with tool makers for closure of changes and corrections
• Attending tool commissioning trials at supply partner ecosystem.
• On field Inspection & dispatch inspection of the tools, provide necessary inputs to mold maker for ensuring right care is taken before mold dispatches.

Participate in NPD processes

• Review part designs with respect to manufacturability considering tool working feasibilities
• Provide technical inputs to mold flow analyst. Review of mold flow/Cast report and work with design engineers for closure of design actions. Bajaj Electricals Limited
• Work with ED teams to define part and tool changes in alignment with manufacturability of tools
• Create documentation of Tooling PPAP
• Suggest options to meet manufacturability criterion to industrial design and engineering design colleagues early at design stage
• Suggest solutions to manufacturing vendors for addressing challenges during commissioning and productionizing the tools. Enable liaison between end molder and Mould maker.

Education Qualification- B Tech + PG Diploma in Mold & Die Designs from CIPET, NTTF, TRTC BE / B Tech

Work Experience 5-10 years of experience in Consumer Durable, Consumer Electronics, Industrial Products, Automotive industry.
