Hydro Prokav Pumps India Pvt Ltd, part of Ingersoll Rand, is seeking a Purchase Engineer to drive end-to-end procurement for catalogue parts, including motors, gearboxes, valves and control panels, in Coimbatore.

The role emphasizes 100% supplier on-time delivery, aggressive cost negotiations, supplier management, and seamless goods receipt and payments, with project procurement experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering is required.
• 6-8 years of experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
• Experience with OEMs, project procurement or site procurement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Convert PR to PO and track POs to ensure timely delivery.
• Source, develop, price and supply catalogue parts (motors, gearboxes, geared motors, valves, seals, panels, filters, coolers, instruments).
• Ensure supplier OTD and quality ratings meet objectives and keep inventory intact.
• Monitor commodity/market trends for price corrections.
• Identify alternative suppliers/processes for better pricing and delivery.
• Manage end-to-end transactions up to part acceptance and payments.
• Coordinate with OEMs/dealers to meet customer specifications and delivery terms.

Job Summary

As a Purchase Engineer, you will drive the end-to-end procurement process, from converting purchase requisitions (PR) to managing purchase orders (PO), with a core focus on catalogue parts (limited to pumps). Your primary objective is to maintain operational efficiency by ensuring 100% Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) and high-quality standards. You will be responsible for aggressive cost negotiations, suppliers’ management also for seamless management of goods receipt processes and ensuring payments. Experience in project procurement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for PR to PO conversion and tracking PO s to ensure timely delivery.
• Responsible for sourcing, development, pricing and supply of catalogue parts –that include Motors, Gearboxes, geared motors, Safety valves, mechanical seals, control panels, filter, coolers, instruments etc
• Ensure supplier OTD and Quality rating to meet departmental objectives to keep inventory intact
• Monitoring commodity / market trends to arrive at the price corrections
• To identify alternative suppliers / process to arrive at better pricing and deliveries
• Responsible for end-to-end transactions till part acceptance and payment
• Engaging with the right OEMs / dealers in arriving at the right price and meeting the required delivery with clear understanding of the customer specifications and its adherence

Basic Qualification

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering (preferably FT)
• 6-8 years of experience in manufacturing Industry (preferably from OEM’s / project / site procurement)

Key Competencies

• Manufacturing process and costing knowledge – clear understanding on the specifications in the catalogue parts
• Experience in handling OE suppliers with understanding on pricing stragety
• Effective communication with suppliers towards the achievement of business goals
• Proficiency in MS office / ERP tools.
