Armacell is seeking an experienced Process Technology Engineer to drive process excellence in rubber production. You will optimize recipes, monitor key parameters, and lead root-cause analyses to enable continuous improvement.

You will coordinate material trials, calibrations, and SOP updates while aligning with safety and ESG objectives. The role demands 6–10 years in rubber processing, strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills, and hands-on experience with process databases

Qualifications

6–10 years of experience in rubber processing/tech/production
Knowledge of chemical mixes used in rubber processing
Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills

Responsibilities

Monitor, analyze, and optimize key process parameters for quality and productivity.
Establish and maintain standard recipes, parameters, and operating standards.
Lead root cause analysis (Fishbone, 5 Why, DOE, FMEA) and CAPA.
Coordinate material approvals, trials, and SOP updates; manage tooling and calibration.
Drive yield improvements, density optimization, scrap reduction, and cost efficiency.
Support quality, safety, and compliance audits; digitalization initiatives.

Purpose of the Job:

To drive process technology excellence, manufacturing optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across production operations by ensuring stable, efficient, and capable manufacturing process. The role is responsible for process parameter control, troubleshooting, material and recipe optimization, process development trials, quality improvement, waste reduction, and technology deployment while supporting Armacell's safety, sustainability, and operational excellence objectives.

Density reduction (as per Budget/PAP)

Scrap reduction

Preparation of Fish bone diagram & RCA of the loss

Process Stability & trouble shooting

Description of main tasks:

The Incumbent is responsible for the following tasks:

1.) Process Control & Optimization

Monitor, analyze, and improve key manufacturing process parameters to ensure product quality, productivity, and process stability.
Establish, maintain, and continuously improve standard recipes, process parameters, and operating standards.
Drive process capability improvement through statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Identify and implement opportunities for yield enhancement, density optimization, raw material savings, and scrap reduction.
Support process standardization and manufacturing digitization initiatives.

2.) Operational Responsibilities

Issuing of std. recipe and process parameter sheet for production.
Approval of raw materials and mixed compounds
Conducting raw material replacement trials as per procedure
Condcuting recipe change trials as per defined procedure
Managing the toolings required for manufacturing
Maintaining the calibration of testing equipments & liasoning with suppliers
Maintaining Process Technology database & parameter file
Connecting with APAC and Global Process Technology team for new developments
Supporting Product development dept by executing trials and adhering to the timelines for development.
Supporting Quality function for improving process capability of the processes
Adhering to the crtical factors of the product and ensuring all parameters are in defined budgeted level

3.) Technical Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

Provide shopfloor technical support for process-related issues.
Lead structured problem-solving activities using RCA methodologies such as Fishbone Analysis, 5 Why, DOE, FMEA, and CAPA.
Ensure rapid resolution of process deviations and quality concerns.
Drive continuous improvement projects focused on throughput, quality, productivity, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.

4.) Training & Development

Training & Development of plant operators.
To focus on development in the area of production process improvement and suggesting the preventive actions.
To communicate effectively and assertively in order to avoid conflicts at work place.

5.) Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with approved process specifications and critical product parameters.
Support quality improvement initiatives to achieve targeted First Pass Yield and customer quality objectives.
Manage process-related documentation, specifications, SOPs, and process databases.
Support internal, customer, IMS, and compliance audits.

Upkeeping department system manual & procedures
Participating in monthly PPP audits and ensuring the PPP score > 98%

6.) Sustainability, Ethics and Operational Excellence (WAM)

Promote sustainable and ethical practices
Support the organization's sustainability and ESG objectives
Participate actively in World Class Manufacturing (WCM/WAM) and continuous improvement programs.
Drive Yield improvement Initiatives
Drive process standardization and digitization initiatives.
