Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage process engineering activities to optimize manufacturing efficiency, quality, yield and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute process improvement initiatives aligned with manufacturing goals.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and QC tools to reduce losses.
  • Implement and monitor process parameters and recipes to ensure product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, quality standards, and SPC at critical stages.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality Assurance and Maintenance for integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing/process-related issues with minimal downtime.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and develop CAPA for process failures and customer complaints.
  • Conduct DOE to achieve yield targets and reduce CTM losses.
  • Standardize process changes and optimization through PCRB with CFT approvals.
  • Maintain ICCM docs including PFMEA, Control Plan, OCAP, SIPOC and more.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Lead and manage process engineering activities to optimize manufacturing efficiency, quality, yield and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute process improvement initiatives aligned with organizational and manufacturing goals.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and QC tools to improve efficiency, process yield, CTM losses, product deviations and material wastage.
  • Implement and monitor process parameters and recipes to ensure product quality as per defined control plans.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, ISO requirements and Statistical Process Control (SPC) at critical process stages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Production, Quality Assurance and Maintenance for seamless process integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing/process-related issues within minimum timelines.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and develop CAPA for process failures and customer complaints.
  • Conduct process and product testing to evaluate performance within defined process windows.
  • Conduct DOE to achieve yield targets and reduce CTM losses.
  • Standardize process changes and optimization through PCRB with required CFT approvals.
  • Review and maintain ICCM documentation including PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Parameters, OCAP, SIPOC, Focus Diagram and Process Transformation.
  • Verify start-up readiness documentation, checklists and ICCM documentation in coordination with the I&I team.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including work instructions, process flows and quality standards.
  • Monitor process activities and conduct daily team reviews to improve uptime and yield.
  • Develop standardized reporting mechanisms for process checks and create visual management systems for tracking KPIs and improvement actions.
  • Interlink process recipes and product characteristics in REMES.
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly process performance reports to senior leadership and management.
  • Identify team competency gaps and support training and capability development.
  • Drive adoption of automation and control systems to improve process efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure adherence to EHS policies, statutory regulations, Life Saving Rules and applicable SOPs.
Preferred candidate profile

8+ years of experience in Process Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
Strong experience in process engineering, process optimization and continuous improvement.
Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and QC tools.
Strong knowledge of core process engineering principles, process equipment and machines.
Experience in PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Parameters, OCAP, SIPOC and related process documentation.
Experience in RCA, CAPA, DOE, process testing and yield improvement.
Strong data analysis and interpretation capabilities.
Experience in process parameter monitoring and recipe management.
Exposure to automation manufacturing processes and plant start-up is advantageous.
Experience in Solar / Semiconductor manufacturing would be advantageous.
Hands-on knowledge of PLCs, PCs, Robotics and equipment control systems would be advantageous.
Strong leadership, team management and people development skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong project management, communication and presentation skills.
Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Self-motivated, hands-on, proactive and committed approach.
Willingness to work in off-shifts / extended hours and travel as required.
High proficiency in spoken and written English.
