Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Supplier Quality Engineer in Bengaluru to drive quality upstream with crankshaft components. You will support SQ in risk mitigation, participate in PDT meetings, and ensure alignment across SQ, GPS ME and Product Engineering. You will also assist in process changes and post-SOP stability.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive/mechanical engineering, with strong knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, and various manufacturing processes related to crankshafts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile Engineering.
• 5+ years of Experience in Automobile / Mechanical allied Engineering Industry.
• Good knowledge of Automotive Vehicle / Propulsions System processes and product launch.
• Sound understanding of GPDP, Quality Chain & PFMEA.
• Knowledge of Project Management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
• Good knowledge of GM-GMS Principles and Workplace safety systems.
• Knowledge of GD&T and crankshaft measurement systems & equipment.
• Knowledge in CNC Programming including NX CAD / CAM Part Print.

• Lead manufacturing process assessments as per GM’s BOP during supplier development & manufacturing readiness check.
• Support SQ in risk identification and mitigation (PFMEA, Control Plans).
• Support quality concern & open issues resolution at supplier.
• Support supplier product development GxDP / APQP milestones during execution.
• Participate in PDT meetings & ensure alignment between SQ, GPS ME & Product Engineering requirements.
• Support process changes and launch and post-SOP stability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile Engineering
• 5+ years of Experience in Automobile / Mechanical allied Engineering Industry
• Good knowledge of Automotive Vehicle / Propulsions System processes and product launch.
• Good working knowledge of Teamcenter, NX, Vis-mockup, AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office applications.
• Sound understanding of GPDP, Quality Chain & PFMEA.
• Good knowledge of Project Management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
• Good knowledge of GM-GMS Principles and Workplace safety systems.
• Good knowledge of process parameters (speeds & feeds), cutting tools / fluids and applications.
• Good knowledge of crankshaft and other major engine components manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of crankshaft critical processes such as Deep rolling, heat treatment, Laser hardening, Nitriding, Grinding, Polishing, Balancing and final inspection, Cleanliness, Preservation & packaging etc.
• Good knowledge of GD&T & crankshaft measurement systems & equipment.
• Knowledge in CNC Programming which includes NX CAD / CAM Part Print, specifications reading and understanding.
