Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead APQP/PPAP processes, drive supplier improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality engine components.

The role focuses on advanced product quality planning, supplier development, and proactive problem solving in a manufacturing setting. Ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of engine components, strong analytical skills, and a track record of reducing defects through

Qualifications

  • Engineering background with emphasis on engine systems.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in supplier quality engineering and manufacturing quality.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot proprietary and machined engine components and drive action at supplier end.
  • Drive collaboration with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and deploy tools.
  • Ensure lessons learned from product families are shared with COE and CDMM for new product development.
  • Provide support and involvement in new product development improvements through early involvement and PPAP completion.
  • Department MIS preparation and monitoring.
  • Monitor supplier performance, supplier audits and SCARs, and drive corrective actions.

Job description

  1. Basic knowldge of Proprietary and machining components like Water Pump, Oil Pump,Chain System,Fead system, Belt ,Auto tensioner Piston,Bearing Shell,Head Gasket , Compressor, Connecting rod ,oil Filter,Engine Valves.
  2. Trouble shooting of Propitory components and drive action at supplier end
  3. Drive collaboration with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and deploy processes and tools.
  4. Ensure that the lessons learned from product families are shared with the platform team (COE, CDMM etc.) for new product development as input for prevention of repeated known issues
  5. Provide support and involvement in new product development improvements through early involvement into product development Process and completion of joint PPAP with CDMM
  6. Department MIS preparation & Monitoring
  7. Participation & Co ordination of concern resolution with Field, User plant and in-house for critical parts
  8. Monitor supplier performance measurement, supplier audits and Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR), etc.
  9. Develop and ensure implementation of process norms for management of suppliers by
  10. Verification of products and services from the suppliers.
  11. Evaluation of performance of suppliers and monitor the improvement plans.
  12. Enhance technical capabilities of vendor through systems and knowledge upgradations.
  13. Review, Analyze and implement results of quality audits at supplier end
Preferred Industries
Education Qualification
  • Strong knowledge of basic engine functioning and engine system integration.
  • Good understanding of proprietary and machined engine components, including: Water Pump,Oil Pump,Chain Drive Systems,Feed Systems,Belt Drive Systems,Auto Tensioners,Pistons,Bearing Shells,Head Gaskets,Compressors,Connecting Rods,Engine Valves etc.
  • Expertise in Process Development, Manufacturing Quality, and Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Proficient in Process Audits, product and process validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements.
  • Experienced in applying quality and problem-solving methodologies, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to assess complex technical issues and drive effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to take firm, data-driven positions and maintain professional judgment under pressure while ensuring quality and business objectives are achieved.
  • Strong capability in cross-functional coordination, risk assessment, and supplier quality improvement initiatives
