Job summary

Buro Happold in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Engineer – ELV, ICT & Security to lead design of BMS, CCTV, access control and security systems for complex built environment projects. You will work on ELV and ICT network design, system architecture, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, applying knowledge of NFPA/IS/NBC/BS/IEEE/TIA codes.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of design experience for security systems in built environments.
• ELV & ICT system design and security/surveillance focus.
• Familiarity with security standards and design processes (VSS, AACS, IDS, PIDS, SMS).

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of BMS and ELV equipment incl Ventilation, HVAC, power, fire, and access control.
• Design ICT/Telecom systems including network and IP telephony.
• Develop system architecture for telecom/security/ELV networks.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for configurations.
• Prepare Design Basis Report and Network Architecture for ELV/BMS.
• Create input/output points schedules and control logic diagrams.
• Prepare tender documents, technical bid analysis, and shop drawings review.
• Review vendor drawings and documents, ensuring conformance.

Your next role

• Design and engineering of Building Management System (BMS) which includes controlling and monitoring of Building’s ELV equipment such as Ventilation & Air conditioning systems, power systems, fire systems and access control systems
• Design and engineering of ICT/Telecommunication systems including Active and passive network, campus backbone cabling, Structured Cabling Infrastructure, IP Telephony, Wireless Data network etc
• Develop System Architecture for Telecom/Security/ELV Networks including selection of network switches, routers.
• Work with OEMs and vendors to finalize system configurations
• Preparation of Design basis report
• Preparation of Network Architecture for BMS & ELV System
• Preparation of Input/Output points schedule & control logic diagrams
• Design and calculations of Cable containments and conduits connecting various areas.
• Hands‑on experience of Indian and International codes for the design (NFPA, IS, NBC, BS, IEEE & TIA.)
• Preparation & Coordinate with designer to create System Architecture for ELV systems
• ELV system Layout coordination with other disciplines
• Having knowledge of Modelling, Drafting, and coordination using latest BIM software like Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360.
• Attend coordination & review meetings
• Preparation of Tender documents with relevant design, technical specifications, Equipment schedules, and BOQ as per requirement.
• Preparation of Technical bid analysis
• Review of technical data sheets and shop drawings submitted by various vendors/contractors
• Review and approval of Vendor document and drawing review including shop drawings
• Evaluate and advise on ICT, Security and ELV related design changes and non-conformations to ensure fulfilment of the requirements

• Video Surveillance (CCTV & Video Analytics)

• Public Address / IP Audio Systems
• Command & Control Centres
• Network Infrastructure

Your Skills And Experience

• You will have been working in a design role with experience of designing security systems in the built environment for 8-10 years.
• ELV & ICT system design
• Security or surveillance systems engineering
• You will understand the design process and approach to designing security systems (VSS, AACS, IDS, PIDS, SMS), specifically being able to identify critical considerations and factors in design.
• Worked in Autodesk tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks and Revit
• Authored technical security specifications on projects
• You will have a good knowledge of standards applicable to security and related systems.
• You will be able to clearly communicate concepts of security design and the rational which form the basis of a design.
• Ideally – a knowledge of basic coding (C#), which can be applied to the development of design tools to facilitate automation.
