Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer to join our Mumbai/Bengaluru based team. You will design security systems for built environments, develop technical specifications, and lead design reviews while leveraging BIM tools like Revit.

The role emphasizes strong communication, ability to challenge current methods, and knowledge of standards for security systems, with potential exposure to basic coding (C#) for automation of design tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of design experience in security systems for built environments.
• Ability to identify critical considerations in security design.
• Experience authoring security specifications on projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Technical Specifications and review subordinates' work.
• Attend design reviews and conduct site visits as needed.
• Contribute to technical development across market sectors and processes.
• Challenge existing methods to develop new solutions.
• Utilize BIM/3D modelling in design on a day-to-day basis.
• Communicate security concepts clearly and professionally.
• Proactively collaborate and manage competing priorities.

Your next role

• Prepare Technical Specifications and check work/specifications of subordinates.
• Undertake project technical/quality reviews and attend design reviews for projects. Undertake site visits as needed for the smooth operation of the project(s).
• Contribute to group initiatives with respect to technical development / market sectors and processes.
• You must be dynamic; have good technical ability and the courage to challenge existing ways of working to break new ground and to find new solutions to existing problems are essential
• Knowledge of BIM technology and 3D Modelling (specifically Revit), the successful candidate will be required to use this technology in the development of design on a day-to-day basis
• Excellent communication skills and the desire to develop consultancy skills to act as an advisor
• Proactivity in the approach to working with others and obtaining information
• The ability to prioritise work effectively and work under pressure.

Your Skills And Experience

• You will have been working in a design role with experience of designing security systems in the built environment for 6+ years.
• You will understand the design process and approach to designing security systems (VSS, AACS, IDS, PIDS, SMS), specifically being able to identify critical considerations and factors in design.
• Worked in Autodesk tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks and Revit
• Authored technical security specifications on projects
• You will have a good knowledge of standards applicable to security and related systems.
• You will be able to clearly communicate concepts of security design and the rational which form the basis of a design.
• Ideally – a knowledge of basic coding (C#), which can be applied to the development of design tools to facilitate automation.
