Responsibilities

• Timely preparation of mechanical designs per customer/tender specs.
• Oversee preparation of all drawings, GTP and calculations for tenders.
• Provide complete design details to team for drawings, GTP, BOM.
• Compare final test results with prepared designs.
• Update and optimize designs based on NC learnings.
• Monitor raw material price changes and adjust designs accordingly.
• Resolve design-related issues on the production floor.
• Provide training to the design team for continuous improvement.
• Explore new technologies and assist in project, prototype and type testing designs.
• Coordinate with sales for technical queries raised by customers.
• Prepare designs according to latest applicable standards and guidelines.

Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To prepare cost effective designs, BOM and design calculations as per the requirement of sales team and to do research and development to adopt new technologies.

KEY RESULTS:

1. Prepare competitive designs.
2. Continuously revise drawings as per changing raw material prices.
3. Timely preparation of designs, BOM, Design Calculations.
4. Prepare error free designs.
5. Timely Resolution of design NC.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

1. Timely Preparation of mechanical designs as per customer / tender specifications.
2. Supervise timely preparation of all Drawings, GTP and Calculations for tender submission.
3. To provide complete details of design to team for preparation of Drawings, GTP and BOM.
4. To compare final test results of transformer with the prepared designs.
5. To continuously update and optimize designs based on findings from final results and other NC / learnings.
6. To continuously monitor change in raw material prices and optimize designs based on changing ratio of material prices.
7. To resolve all design related issues on production shop floor on priority basis.
8. To provide training to design team for continuous improvement.
9. To explore new technologies and assist in preparing project, prototype and type testing designs.
10. To coordinate with sales team for Technical queries raised by customer.
11. Prepare designs as per latest applicable standards and guidelines.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualification (Must/Desirable): B.E. / B. Tech / M. Tech in Electrical Engineering Experience: Min. 10 years’ experience in designing of Power Transformers up to 20 MVA, 66 KV Class, Furnace Transformers up to 24 pulse, Single Phase Transformers, Inverter Duty Transformers, Foil Winding Transformers, Amorphous Transformers, Oval Transformers, Ear thing Transformers, Auto Transformers, LT Transformers, Distribution Transformers, Dual Ratio Transformers, Compact Substation, Dry Type Transformers up to 33 KV, 10 MVA.
