Job summary

Uttam Bharat is seeking an Assistant Engineer - Design to optimize mechanical designs for cost reduction and to prepare 3D and 2D mechanical drawings of transformers for customer submission and fabrication. The role requires hands-on experience in transformer industry with emphasis on 3D/2D drawings and drawing maintenance.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; BE preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Transformer Industry in preparation of 3D and 2D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D Models of designs and check for practical working of design.
• Prepare all drawings as pre tender / customer requirement for submission.
• Prepare final fabrication drawings and ensure all electrical clearances are maintained as per guidelines.
• Coordinate with purchase department for drawings of External & Internal Fittings as needed.
• Coordinate with production department for resolving any issues on shop floor.
• Coordinate with Vendors for any design related issues during fabrication / manufacturing.
• Updating / maintaining Drawings and documentation as per corrections (NC's) or new learnings.
• Prepare BOM for all designs.
• Physically verify BOM / Design during various stages of production at the time of prototype / 1st time production.
• Analyze the mechanical drawings and suggest cost reduction ideas without compromising quality / safety / customer requirements.
• Collaborate on R&D projects for further product improvements.
• Supervise Jr. Draftsman for timely and correct preparation of submission and fabrication drawings.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualification (Must/Desirable): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Preferably B.E. Experience: Min. 5 years’ experience in Transformer Industry in preparation of 3D and 2D drawings.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Knowledge on CAD software’s: 3D Modeling software & 2D AutoCAD and Solid Works. Experience on Microsoft office and tools. Good communication skills Attention to Detail Innovative Thinking Process Orientation Problem Solving
