Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) is looking for a Senior Engineer – Data Center (Mechanical & Thermal) focused on Data Center Thermal Research to develop advanced cooling and thermal management technologies. This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune.
The Mechanical Engineering professional is responsible for mechanical design, FEA, testing, and documentation of new products to meet customer requirements. Conduct research and create designs for new product developments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering
4 to 6 years of experience in engineering design and development of mechanical or thermal systems
Develop cooling solutions such as Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), rear-door heat exchangers & manifolds, hot aisle containment systems, chillers, & facility water systems.
Evaluate and develop new cooling technologies for data center future products
Collaborate with global partners, customers, and cross-functional Eaton teams to deliver innovative, efficient, and reliable cooling systems.
Ensure close integration of designs with mechanical and electrical engineering teams for safe, optimized end-to-end system performance.
Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, tight tolerance components, etc.
Experience with closed-loop refrigeration systems, pneumatic actuation, automation, thermocouples, RTDs, power supplies, fans, and thermoelectric coolers a plus.
Proficient user of CAD/3D solid modeling tools - SolidWorks 2018 or newer preferred
Demonstrated strong experience in experimental mechanics, prototyping and testing for developing advanced thermal technologies.
Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging with executives, engineers, and customers.
Proven track record of patents, publishing and presentations.
Familiarity with Autodesk design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, CFD platforms) and integration with digital twin environments.
