About the Role
Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) is looking for a Specialist, Data Center – Embedded Electronic Hardware. This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Development – Define and develop architectures for electrical systems, data center solutions, and industrial control products. Mentor product development teams to strengthen technical competencies.
- Hardware Design & Development – Lead hardware design and development activities to meet project schedules and budgets. Provide robust technical solutions, adhere to defined processes, and champion technology innovations.
- Technology Strategy – Stay ahead of technology trends, define strategies, and deliver solutions that create a competitive advantage.
- Innovation Leadership – Promote and nurture an innovative environment that accelerates capability development and drives organizational growth.
Qualifications
B.E./M.E./M.Tech. in Power Electronics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or Instrumentation; 12–15 years of experience.
Skills and Expertise
- Deep knowledge of data center power architectures (Transformers, SST, UPS, PDUs, Switchgear, MV and LV architectures).
- End‑to‑End Product Execution – Led multiple medium‑to‑high complexity projects from concept to commercialization, including POC, verification, validation, and certification to global standards.
- Hands‑On Design Expertise – Proficient in PCB design, component selection, schematic creation, product testing, prototype development, and industrialization.
- Standards Compliance – Deep knowledge of UL, IEC, and NEC standards for devices such as meters, breakers, fuses, relays, switchgears, and contactors.
- Power Electronics Mastery – Extensive experience in power conversion technologies (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC), gate drives, thermal management, and control strategies.
- Embedded Systems & Magnetics – Skilled in implementing control algorithms on embedded platforms and working with high‑frequency magnetics (transformers, inductors, CTs, hall sensors).
- EMI/EMC & Battery Systems – Experienced in EMI/EMC analysis, filter design, and battery management systems.
- Lifecycle & Architecture Ownership – Led full hardware development lifecycle including requirements, architecture, design, verification, validation, and certification.
- Strategic Collaboration & Innovation – Strong communicator and influencer, proposing innovative solutions, managing schedules, and protecting IP through patents/disclosures.
- Circuit Design & Simulation – Proficient in high‑speed, digital, mixed‑signal, and analog circuit design using tools such as PSpice, LTSpice, and ModelSim.
- Communication Protocols & PCB Design – Strong grasp of digital interfaces and protocols (RS232, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, Modbus, BACNet), schematic entry, and PCB design for EMI/EMC compliance.
- Validation & Global Collaboration – Skilled in hardware validation, physical layer testing, and power systems analysis, with excellent cross‑cultural collaboration capabilities.
- Leadership & Technical Competency – Proven ability to lead through influence, build technical competency across teams, and drive product development for commercial viability.
