Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a senior mechanical design lead for data centers in Pune/Mumbai. The role focuses on defining mechanical and cooling strategies, and leading end-to-end design for high-density AI workloads.

You'll coordinate with electrical, controls, IT, and vendors, drive energy efficiency, and manage consultants and OEMs. A strong background in data center cooling and hyperscale projects is essential, with 8–12+ years' experience expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• Master's degree in Thermal Engineering, HVAC, or related fields (preferred).
• Additional certifications such as LEED/IGBC, PMP, or Uptime Institute credentials are advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Successful Applicant

Experience

• 8 to 12+ years in mechanical design for data centers, mission‑critical facilities, or high‑density industrial complexes.
• Strong exposure to designing cooling systems for hyperscale data centers (20 MW to 200 MW+).
• Experience with liquid cooling (DLC), immersion cooling, or advanced AI thermal solutions highly preferred.
• Experience working with major hyperscalers (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta) is a strong plus.
