Senior Engineer – Carbon Advisory (Decarbonization)

Job summary

Wood seeks a senior professional to lead proposals and deliver energy and carbon advisory studies. You will manage small engineering teams, guide technical work, and ensure timely deliverables while staying abreast of market developments in climate tech.

You will transform technical analyses into actionable client strategies, maintain strong client relationships, and represent the Carbon Advisory team in stakeholder presentations. English communication must be excellent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a technical environmental or sustainable development-related discipline
• Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in the energy sector, with a proven track record of delivering and leading projects as well as supporting business development activities
• Strong foundation in process engineering and energy systems optimisation
• Experience using simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS and pinch analysis software for energy efficiency and heat integration studies
• Knowledge of industrial decarbonisation technologies and their practical application in real-world projects
• Ability to convert technical analysis into clear, practical, and actionable client strategies
• Demonstrated understanding of international best practices in energy and carbon efficiency
• Awareness of global policy and economic frameworks shaping climate change and decarbonisation agendas
• Strong analytical capability, with the ability to break down complex challenges into manageable components and identify key priorities
• Confident communication skills, with excellent spoken and written English
• Proven ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations
• Strong organisational and project management capabilities
• A proactive attitude toward learning and a willingness to share knowledge with others
