Job summary

Motherson Group's Vision Systems division seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to design 3D/2D and assembly drawings, and to create 3D plastic part designs using CAD tools, supported by detailed 2D drawings.

You will perform feasibility studies with CATIA V5, draft analysis, tool/mold concepts, material selection, and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to ensure manufacturability and quality in automotive applications.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with extensive design experience in automotive industry.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years post-qualification experience in automotive design/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D, 2D and assembly drawings for components and assemblies.
• Create 3D plastic part designs using CAD tools with supporting 2D drawings.
• Prepare detailed assembly drawings with annotations and tolerances.
• Conduct feasibility studies on styling data using CATIA V5 to ensure manufacturability.
• Perform draft analysis for plastic parts to assess tooling feasibility.
• Evaluate core–cavity design and ejection mechanisms for mold concepts.
• Select applicable engineering plastics based on properties and cost.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to ensure precise manufacturing.

• Analyze and select applicableengineering plastic raw materialsused in the automotive industry based on mechanical properties, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• ApplyGeometric Dimensioning & Tolerancingprinciples to ensure precise manufacturing, inspection, and functional alignment of components.
