Job summary

Motherson Group is seeking engineers to design and analyse electronics for automotive lighting. You will develop LED driver circuits (DC-DC/Linear), select topologies, and ensure automotive-grade component viability. The role emphasises cross-functional teamwork, design reviews, and rigorous documentation for timely delivery.

Responsibilities include interfacing with ECAD, BOM control, and resolving field issues during SOP, with a strong focus on quality and process excellence.

Responsibilities

• Understand the Customer’s work requirements and project deliverables (time, quality, delivery dates).
• Design and analyse electronics circuits for Automotive Lamp.
• Develop LED driver electronics for HL/Tail Lamps (DC-DC, Linear/Resistive).
• Select topologies for DC-DC converters and integrate logic per vehicle needs.
• Choose automotive-grade components and verify hardware requirements.
• Interface with ECAD for PCB layout meeting EMC and manufacturing rules.
• Participate in design reviews with cross-functional PD and Manufacturing teams.
• Release component BOMs and ensure traceability in required format.
• Collaborate with Product Assurance to develop test specs and troubleshoot per customer spec.
• Coordinate with suppliers for component specs development and part availability.
• Design, modify, and track interface specifications.
• Analyse field failures and drive resolutions during SOP.

• Responsibilities:
• 1. Understand the Customer’s work requirement and project deliverables (Project time estimation, quality and commit delivery dates).
• 2. Design and analyse electronics circuits for Automotive Lamp.
• 3. Perfect Electronic design of Linear / Resistive / DC-DC converter-based LED Driver for HL/Tail Lamps.
• 4. Topologies Selection of DC-DC Converter and Logic Integration as per Vehicle requirement. (According to Customer)
• 5. Automotive grade Component selection and analysis to fulfil hardware requirements.
• 6. Interface with ECAD for PCB layout with compliance to EMC & manufacturing design rules.
• 7. Participating in Design Reviews with Cross Functional PD & Manufacturing Team.
• 8. Control and release component BOM as per required Format.
• 9. Work with Product Assurance group to develop test specifications and assist in troubleshooting according to Customer Spec.
• 10. Interface with suppliers for development of component specifications, resolving open issues and ensure part availability for design milestones.
• 11. Design, change, tracking and developing interface specifications.
• 12. Field failure worst case analysis / handle field failures occurrence during SOP.

• 2. Manufacturing problems are dealt with in a timely manner.
• 3. Calibration procedures are optimised through new insights and effective communication.
