Job summary

LPL Financials is seeking a Senior Engineer BI Reporting & Analytics to design, develop, and support enterprise dashboards and reports. You will translate business requirements into actionable insights using Tableau and SQL in a AWS-enabled environment.

You will optimize performance, maintain semantic models, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely analytics across the organization. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Analytics, or Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Development, including dashboard design and performance optimization.
• Strong experience with Tableau Cloud Administration, including governance and permissions.
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Experience with AWS analytics services such as Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3, and Lambda.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and reporting architecture.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Job Overview

The Senior Engineer BI Reporting & Analytics will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Tableau development, Tableau Cloud administration, SQL, and AWS analytics services to deliver scalable, high-quality dashboards and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate is a technically strong individual contributor with experience partnering with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

BI Development & Reporting

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
• Develop and maintain semantic layers, datasets, and data models to support reporting needs.
• Ensure consistent use of business metrics, KPIs, and data definitions across reporting solutions.
• Optimize dashboard performance, usability, and user experience.
• Support self-service analytics capabilities while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Tableau Cloud Administration

• Manage and maintain Tableau Cloud environments, including content publishing, permissions, security, and governance.
• Monitor platform usage, performance, and adoption.
• Administer user access, groups, projects, and data source permissions.
• Support Tableau Cloud upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, and operational activities.
• Implement and maintain Tableau development and deployment best practices.

Data & Analytics Engineering

• Develop and optimize SQL queries and reporting datasets.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to source, transform, and prepare data for analytics and reporting.
• Utilize AWS services such as Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3, and Lambda to support reporting and analytics solutions.
• Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and integration issues across reporting platforms.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable analytics architectures.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

• Partner with business teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Participate in solution design, testing, deployment, and production support activities.Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing analytics and reporting solutions.

Governance & Data Quality

• Ensure adherence to BI development standards, governance policies, and security requirements.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain documentation for dashboards, data sources, metrics, and reporting processes.
• Support compliance with organizational data privacy and security standards.
