Job summary

Metafil is seeking a maintenance professional to handle preventive and breakdown maintenance of sheet metal fabrication machinery at the Haryana facility. The role covers electrical and utility maintenance, preventive schedules, breakdown management, spare parts coordination, and safety compliance.

The candidate should be able to troubleshoot PLC, VFD, sensors and control circuits, read basic drawings, and maintain machine history records with strong communication across departments.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance.

• Basic knowledge of PLC, VFD, sensors, motors, control panels, and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain preventive and breakdown maintenance of sheet metal fabrication machinery.
• Identify machine problems and take corrective action to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical panels, motors, sensors, relays, VFDs, PLC-related issues.
• Monitor and maintain compressors, DG sets, air lines, cooling systems and utilities.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance schedules and records.
• Attend breakdowns to minimize production loss and record actions taken.
• Identify critical spares and coordinate procurement with stores.
• Follow plant safety procedures and ensure LOTO practices.

Job description

1. Machine Maintenance

• Handle preventive and breakdown maintenance of sheet metal fabrication machinery.
• Maintain and troubleshoot machines such as Press Brake, Shearing Machine, Power Press, Laser Cutting Machine, CNC/VMC, Welding Machines, Compressors, DG Sets, and other production equipment.
• Identify machine problems and take corrective action to minimize production downtime.
• Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, calibration, and condition of machines.

2. Electrical & Utility Maintenance

• Troubleshoot electrical panels, motors, sensors, contactors, relays, VFDs, PLC-related issues, and control circuits.
• Monitor and maintain compressors, DG sets, air lines, cooling systems, and other utilities.
• Ensure proper functioning of plant electrical and utility systems.

3. Preventive Maintenance

• Prepare and follow daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain machine-wise maintenance checklists and records.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure timely replacement of consumables and critical spare parts.

4. Breakdown Management

• Attend machine breakdowns on priority to minimize production loss.
• Coordinate with Production and other departments during breakdowns.
• Record breakdown time, reason, action taken, and machine restoration time.
• Conduct root cause analysis for major and repetitive breakdowns.

5. Spare Parts & Inventory

• Identify critical maintenance spares and maintain minimum stock levels.
• Coordinate with Purchase/Stores for procurement of spare parts.
• Maintain records of spare consumption and replacement history.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all plant safety procedures during maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) practices wherever applicable.
• Ensure machines are maintained in safe operating condition.
• Support safety inspections and corrective actions related to machinery and equipment.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain preventive maintenance records, breakdown reports, machine history cards, and maintenance checklists.
• Prepare daily/monthly maintenance reports.
• Track machine downtime and maintenance-related KPIs.
• Maintain records of AMC/service activities and external maintenance vendors.
