Job summary

Vascon Engineers in Pune is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimation Engineer to lead electrical cost estimation for large residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects.

The role requires preparing quantity take-offs from tender drawings, developing estimates using thumb rules, conducting rate analysis, and coordinating with civil, MEP, planning and procurement teams for integrated tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in electrical estimation and tendering.
• Experience with reputed EPC contractors, real estate developers, or building construction companies is essential.
• Proven experience in estimation for high-rise, commercial, hotel, institutional, and mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs to understand project scope.
• Prepare detailed electrical quantity take-offs from tender drawings.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for HT/LT Electrical Systems, Transformers, DG Sets, and Substations.
• Transform internal & external electrification, lighting & power systems, and related works.
• Prepare estimates based on detailed measurements and thumb-rule costing during conceptual or incomplete designs.
• Carry out rate analysis and prepare detailed cost break-ups.
• Float enquiries, obtain quotations, and evaluate offers from vendors and subcontractors.
• Benchmark material and labour rates with prevailing market prices.
• Coordinate with Civil, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Planning teams for integrated costing.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial tender submissions within timelines.
• Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimation templates.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimation Engineer with 10-12 years of relevant experience in electrical estimation and tendering for large residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use building projects. The candidate should possess strong expertise in preparing accurate electrical cost estimates from tender drawings, specifications, and BOQs, as well as developing estimates using industry thumb rules where detailed information is unavailable.

The role requires independent handling of the complete electrical estimation process for competitive bidding and close coordination with civil, MEP, planning, procurement, and business development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs to understand project scope.
• Prepare detailed electrical quantity take-offs from tender drawings.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for:
• HT/LT Electrical Systems
• Transformers, DG Sets and Substations
• Internal & External Electrification
• Lighting & Power Systems
• Earthing & Lightning Protection
• Fire Alarm Systems
• ELV Systems including CCTV, Access Control, Data, Voice, PA, BMS, etc.
• Prepare estimates based on detailed measurements as well as thumb-rule costing during conceptual or incomplete design stages.
• Carry out rate analysis and prepare detailed cost break-ups.
• Float enquiries, obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors, and evaluate offers.
• Benchmark material and labour rates with prevailing market prices.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions without compromising quality.
• Coordinate with Civil, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Planning teams to ensure integrated project costing.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial tender submissions within stipulated timelines.
• Maintain and update historical cost databases, productivity norms, and estimation templates.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in electrical estimation and tendering for building construction projects.
• Experience with reputed EPC contractors, real estate developers, or building construction companies is essential.
• Proven experience in handling estimation for high-rise residential, commercial, hospitals, hotels, institutional, and mixed-use developments.

Technical Skills

• Excellent understanding of building electrical services and systems.
• Ability to independently interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, and tender documents.
• Strong expertise in quantity take-offs and estimation methodologies.
• Thorough knowledge of NBC, IS Codes, CEA Regulations, and standard electrical engineering practices.
• Excellent command over MS Excel and estimation spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and estimation software will be an added advantage.
