Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Distribution Design Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering overhead and underground electrical distribution projects, substation design support, and client-focused engineering solutions for Australian utility networks. This role requires strong technical capability, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical distribution design projects for overhead and underground network infrastructure.
• Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation in accordance with Australian utility standards and regulations.
• Design and coordinate substation-related projects, ensuring compliance with utility requirements and industry standards.
• Produce primary design deliverables including:
• General Arrangement Layouts
• Earthing Plans
• Conduit Layouts
• Structural Designs
• Civil Designs
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and utility authorities to understand project requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Manage project portfolios, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to design team members.
• Identify project risks, solve engineering challenges, and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure all design outputs comply with applicable Australian Standards, utility design standards, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate document control and project records using established document management systems.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of design experience within the Australian Electrical Distribution Industry.
• Proven consultancy and design experience in overhead and underground power distribution projects.
• Experience working on substation projects for Australian utilities.
• Strong understanding of Australian utility design standards, specifications, and construction practices.
• Experience with Australian electrical design specifications and standards such as AS3000, AS3008, AS 7000
