Job summary

Energy In Motion in Navi Mumbai is seeking a Manager Design Electrical to lead the complete electrical design for utility-scale solar power projects. You will oversee SLDs, layouts, and system integration, coordinating with internal teams, EPCs, vendors, and regulatory authorities to ensure timely engineering deliverables.

The role demands 6–8 years in solar electrical design, a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma with relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP.

Qualifications

• Essential - Degree- B. TECH/ B.E. (Electrical Engineering) / Diploma with 10+ years exp
• Preferred - Certification in Solar Design or Power System Engineering

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review SLDs, electrical layouts, cable routing, earthing layouts, and lightning protection designs.
• Design AC and DC systems for ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects.
• Review inverter, transformer, HT/LT panel, RMU, SCADA, and switchyard engineering.
• Prepare BOQs and technical specifications for electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with consultants and vendors for design optimization.
• Review and approve vendor drawings and engineering documents.
• Support procurement team in technical evaluations and vendor selection.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, CEA, and utility standards.
• Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and testing activities.
• Knowledge of PV SYST
• Knowledge of batter bank and distribution
• Review energy yield assumptions and support project feasibility studies.
• Participate in design risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
• Cable loss and current calculation
• Transformer selection and calculation

Job Profile

Responsible for the complete electrical design and engineering activities for utility-scale solar power projects, The role involves coordination with internal teams, consultants, vendors, DISCOMs, and regulatory authorities to ensure timely and accurate project engineering deliverables.

KRA:

• Complete electrical design and engineering for solar power projects.
• Timely submission and approval of engineering drawings.
• Optimization of project design for cost, performance, and reliability.
• Coordination with EPC, O&M, equipment vendors, and statutory authorities.
• Compliance with applicable standards, utility requirements, and safety regulations.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Management, Civil, Procurement, and Construction teams.
• Monitor engineering schedules and ensure timely delivery of design documents.
• Resolve site engineering issues and provide technical solutions.
• Support project execution teams during inspections and commissioning activities.

Other Responsibilities

• Ensure engineering documentation and design records.
• Develop standard engineering practices and design templates.
• Mentor and guide design engineers within the department.
• Ensure adherence to company quality and safety requirements.

Requisite Qualification

Essential - Degree- B. TECH/ B.E. (Electrical Engineering) / Diploma with 10+ years exp

Preferred - Certification in Solar Design or Power System Engineering

• 6-8 years of Experience in Wind/rooftop/Ground Mounted solar projects.
• Experience in electrical design of ground-mounted solar projects, substations, and transmission systems.
