Job summary

Egis Road Operation India is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical design for major commercial projects in India. You will develop and review electrical designs, layouts, and specs, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities include coordination with architectural and MEP disciplines, conducting load studies, preparing BOQs and tender documents, and guiding junior engineers through design to handover.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering/MEP projects.
• Experience in large-scale commercial/building projects.
• Exposure to Airports, Hospitals, Hotels, Shopping Malls, IT Parks, Commercial Complexes or Data Centres preferred.
• Experience handling projects from concept/design through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical engineering and design activities for large-scale commercial projects.
• Develop and review electrical system designs, layouts, specifications and technical reports.
• Design and review HT/LT power distribution systems, transformers, substations, DG sets, UPS, APFC, MCC and electrical panels.
• Carry out electrical load calculations, voltage-drop calculations, short-circuit studies and cable sizing.
• Design and review lighting, emergency lighting, small power, earthing and lightning protection systems.
• Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, equipment schedules and schematic drawings.
• Prepare and review BOQs, technical specifications, tender documents and design calculations.
• Review contractor/shop drawings, material submittals and technical proposals.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, ELV and other MEP disciplines.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct technical reviews, design coordination meetings and site inspections.
• Monitor installation and execution of electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance during testing, commissioning and handover of electrical systems.
• Identify technical issues and provide effective engineering solutions during design and construction stages.
• Ensure compliance with applicable NBC, IS, IEC and other relevant national/international electrical standards and statutory requirements.
• For airport projects, exposure to aviation-specific electrical systems and requirements will be an advantage.
• Ensure quality, safety and timely completion of electrical engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior electrical engineers and design team members.
• Participate in client presentations, technical discussions and design review meetings.
• Support project management and business development teams with technical inputs for proposals and tenders.

What do we need from you

• Minimum 15 years of overall experience in Electrical Engineering/MEP projects.
• Strong experience in large-scale commercial and building projects.
• Candidates with experience in Airports, Hospitals, Hotels, Shopping Malls, IT Parks, Commercial Complexes, Data Centres or Institutional Buildings will be preferred.
• Experience in both design consultancy and project execution will be an added advantage.
• Should have experience in handling projects from concept/design through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
