Job summary

Persistent is seeking a Senior .NET SDET Engineer in Hyderabad to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web apps, APIs, and enterprise systems. Expertise in .NET, Selenium, API automation, BDD, and cloud-based testing environments is required, with collaboration across developers, product teams, and DevOps.

You will build robust test architectures, implement CI/CD integrations, drive test data management, and contribute to quality improvements through Agile ceremonies

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of experience in Software Development, Quality Engineering, Automation Testing, or SDET roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.
• Proven experience building scalable test automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver and automation framework development.
• Strong experience in API automation testing and validating RESTful services.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar behavior-driven testing tools.
• Knowledge of Rest Assured concepts or equivalent API testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience with JavaScript, Angular, and modern web application technologies.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and quality engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect management skills.
• Knowledge of performance, scalability, load testing, and test automation best practices.
• Hands-on experience with source control systems such as Git.
• Experience participating in code reviews and following coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in fast-paced development environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Participate in automation environment setup and framework implementation using IDEs and automation tools.
• Design scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation architectures aligned with project requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize automation candidates to maximize test coverage and efficiency.
• Develop automated test scripts for UI, functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
• Implement API automation solutions for validating RESTful services and microservice-based applications.
• Create, maintain, and execute BDD-based automated test scenarios using Cucumber or similar frameworks.
• Develop, enhance, debug, and optimize automation test suites to improve execution efficiency and reliability.
• Create automation test strategies, test plans, test data management approaches, and quality assurance processes.
• Execute regression testing and ensure minimal impact from application changes and new feature releases.
• Track, analyze, and manage defects while collaborating with development teams for issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot automation failures, object identification issues, environment-related defects, and test execution challenges.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid software delivery.
