Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience.

• Understanding of modern manufacturing processes, tolerances, and assembly workflows.

Senior Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Design Engineer to handle the design and development of Advance Additive manufacturing machine and mechanical systems. In this role, you will take ownership of mechanical design tasks, from initial concept to final assembly, ensuring all designs strictly adhere to relevant industry design standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels in SolidWorks, has a deep understanding of design validation processes, and thrives in both independent execution and cross-functional team environments.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design: Execute the conceptualization, 3D modeling, and detailed drafting of machinery and mechanical equipment in strict compliance with industry design standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, DIN).
• Component Selection: Independently size, evaluate, and select critical machine elements, including bearings, spindles, ball screws, LM guides, motors, and other vital accessories to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Design Validation & Analysis: Perform static analysis and comprehensive design validation using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Conduct and document DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and FMEA processes to mitigate risks and ensure product reliability.
• Manufacturing & Assembly Coordination: Apply a deep understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA). Coordinate closely with the shop floor during the assembly process to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
• Independent Execution: Handle design projects independently from kickoff to completion, ensuring milestones, quality standards, and budget requirements are met.
• Customer Interaction: Engage directly with customers to gather technical requirements, present concept designs, address technical queries, and ensure the final product meets their exact specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Core Domain: Proven track record in general machinery or industrial equipment design with a strong emphasis on applying standard engineering codes and design standards. Experience with cutting machines or precision machinery is a strong advantage.
• Software Proficiency: Expert‑level, hands‑on experience using SolidWorks for complex 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Engineering Principles: Strong command of static analysis, FEA, DFMEA, FMEA, and general engineering mechanics.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of modern manufacturing processes, machining capabilities, tolerances, and assembly workflows.
• Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage)

• Experience in the design and development of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) machines is highly desirable and will be considered a significant plus.
