Job summary

Diagnosys in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to develop and refine complex electromechanical systems using SolidWorks. You will lead 3D modelling, drafting, and simulations, ensure ASME and IPC standards, select materials, and collaborate across teams to drive quality and manufacturability.

With 9+ years of hands-on design experience, you will mentor junior engineers, support PDM data management, and manage ECRs while interfacing with vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience adhering to ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Experience taking a product design from concept to production.
• Broad knowledge in mechanical/electromechanical design including sheet metal, machined parts, welding, wire run lists, etc.

Job description

Responsibilities : -

• Develops mechanical and electromechanical components by evaluating customer and project requirements using SolidWorks.
• Performs Stress analyses, as needed, utilizing SolidWorks Simulation.
• Designs and drafts to ASME and IPC standards.
• Responsible for selecting proper materials and finishes to meet project requirements.
• Optimizes designs for performance, cost, manufacturability and reliability.
• Maintain CAD data and version control in SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) system.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively and efficiently with cross-functional teams on design direction and requirements in order to achieve project goals.
• Participates in peer reviews and project reviews such as Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
• Interfaces with vendors, subcontractors and suppliers to answer technical questions and solve issues
• Initiates Engineering Change Requests (ECR) as needed.
• Works with multiple departments for technical clarification or any questions that arise in regards to designs and drawings.
• Provides guidance to lower-level engineers in area of technical expertise.
• Recommends innovations and improved methods, tools and processes.
• Acts as customer contact on selective technical matters.

Desired profile of the candidate : -

• Fluent in 3D modelling and drafting using SolidWorks.
• Experience adhering to ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Experienced in taking a product design from concept to production.
• Broad knowledge in mechanical/electromechanical design including sheet metal, machined parts, welding, wire run lists, block diagrams, electromechanical packaging and cables.
• Good knowledge of materials and their mechanical
• properties.
• Experienced with rapid prototyping and 3D printing
• technology to generate parts for evaluation and production.
• Experience in designing to meet Environmental requirements such as shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, altitude, salt/fog, etc.
• Experience designing to meet Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) requirements.
• Thorough understanding of Engineering Change Request (ECR) process.
• 5+ years of experience of hands on mechanical design engineering experience

Desired work experience : -

• Minimum 9 years of experience
• (Prefer 6+ years 3-D Modelling experience with SolidWorks.
• 3+ years experience in complex part and assembly design)

• M.Tech/ M.E /B.Tech/B.E/ M.Sc / B.Sc : Electro-Mechanical /Mechanical
• Engineer preferred, will consider Mechanical with electrical experience
