Job summary

EMUG Engineering Services in Hyderabad is seeking a SolidWorks Design Engineer with 3-6+ years of experience in 2D/3D mechanical design, GD&T, automotive plastics, NPD, and SPM design. The candidate should have strong hands-on SolidWorks skills and be able to develop detailed designs and drawings from concept to production.

You will develop 3D models and 2D drawings, design automotive plastic components and tooling, and prepare GD&T-based specifications for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 3-6+ years in 2D/3D mechanical design, GD&T, automotive plastics, NPD and SPM design.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design and modify automotive plastic components, assemblies, and related tooling/fixtures.
• Prepare detailed drawings with GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• Work on New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept through production.
• Design Special Purpose Machines (SPM), jigs, fixtures, and automation-related components.
• Perform design changes based on DFM/DFA, manufacturing and customer requirements.
• Review designs for manufacturability, assembly, functionality, and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, tooling, quality, and production teams for validation and implementation.
• Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and engineering changes.
• Maintain design documentation, BOMs, drawings, and revision records.
