Job summary

Cyient is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to NPD across on-/off-highway vehicles, with strong CAD capabilities and a background in structural design. Candidates should be adept at evaluating sub-systems in heavy equipment and welding-enabled fabrication, delivering robust design outputs with attention to GD&T and design fundamentals.

The role requires 7-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering and vehicle integration, with knowledge of hydraulics

Qualifications

• BE/ME Mechanical Engineer with 7-10 years of experience.
• Knowledge of PLM and PDM systems.
• Experience in heavy commercial vehicles and vehicle integration.
• Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, welding design.
• Knowledge of materials used in structural design.
• Hydraulic system knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of NPD for On/Off highway vehicles and vehicle integration.
• Work on sub-systems in heavy vehicles and equipment like Stackers and Forklifts.
• Review and validate manufacturing drawings per standards.
• Build CAD models, assemblies, and BOMs for integration.
• Handle critical tasks/projects independently with quality and timely delivery.
• Familiarity with PLM, PDM and engineering change management.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V5.

Role & responsibilities

• Knowledge of NPD of On / off highway vehicles, material handling or mobile equipment, vehicle integration of different automobile aggregates.
• Sound knowledge of different sub-systems in Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Tractor Trailers, Stackers, Forklifts etc.
• Experience in Sheet metal, fabrication parts, welding design.
• Should have knowledge about materials used in structural design.
• Technical concept development, knowledge of VAVE.
• Good understanding of design and engineering fundamentals, GD&T.
• Build CAD models, Assemblies, Drawings required for integration and BOM creation in PDM.
• Able to handle the critical tasks/projects independently, maintain the quality and follow delivery of assigned tasks/projects
• Review and validate manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
• Knowledge of PLM, PDM system, Engineering change management
• Good knowledge of 3D Modelling / Drafting
• Good working knowledge of CATIA V5.
• BE / ME Mechanical Engineer with 7-10 years of experience.
• Hydraulic system knowledge will be added benefit.
