Job summary

Rishab Industries, Pune-based manufacturer of LV power distribution equipment, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead electrical design for floor-mount PDUs and RPPs and to guide the engineering team toward high-quality outputs.

You will coordinate with the department head, review designs, and ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards while engaging with customers and OEMs for presales clarifications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in electrical panel design for data centre or critical power systems.
• Exposure to PDUs, RPPs, or UPS-related panels is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEC/IS LV switchgear and control panel standards.

Position Senior Design Engineer - Power Distribution Panels

ABOUT THE ROLE-

Rishab Industries is a Pune-based manufacturer of LV power distribution equipment, with a growing Data Centre

segment focused on floor-mount PDUs and RPPs supplied to leading UPS OEM multinationals. As the DC panel

business has scaled significantly, we are adding a senior engineering layer between the engineering team and

department leadership. This role is a hands-on senior position responsible for design quality, engineering team output,

and customer-facing technical engagement freeing the department head to focus on strategic priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES-

1.Design Ownership-

• Lead the electrical design of floor-mount PDUs (single and three-phase) and RPPs including branch circuit power

monitoring (BCPM) configurations.

• Review, validate, and approve designs and drawings produced by the engineering team before release to the

shopfloor acting as the technical quality gate.

• Develop and maintain wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, and panel layout plans

using AutoCAD Electrical / Solid Edge (EPLAN experience is a plus).

• Perform electrical calculations including cable sizing, busbar sizing, load analysis, and protection coordination.
• Prepare and review Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accuracy before procurement and production release.

2.Team Coordination & Quality-

• Establish and enforce design review checkpoints to reduce errors reaching the shopfloor.
• Support the engineering team in resolving technical roadblocks and building confidence in their outputs.
• Coordinate workload and project priorities with the department head and flag capacity or quality risks proactively.
• Drive adoption of design standards and documentation discipline across the engineering team.

3.Customer & Presales Interaction-

• Serve as the technical point of contact for OEM presales queries reviewing project-specific requirements,

responding to technical clarifications, and supporting the quoting process.

• Engage directly with customer engineering teams when needed, particularly on custom PDU/RPP configurations

and DC infrastructure specifications.

• Understand data centre electrical infrastructure requirements to translate customer inputs into viable, compliant

designs.

4.Compliance & Standards-

• Ensure all designs comply with IEC and IS standards applicable to LV panels and power distribution equipment.
• Maintain design documentation, revision control, and drawing register discipline.

CANDIDATE PROFILE-

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in electrical panel design, with demonstrated exposure to data centre or critical

power infrastructure (PDUs, RPPs, or UPS-related panel products strongly preferred).

• Prior experience at organisations such as Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens, STT GDC, NTT, Vivid Electromech,Marine Electricals, Datsons, or similar companies in the DC electrical infrastructure or industrial panel space will be highly regarded.
• Strong working knowledge of floor-mount PDU and RPP design, including understanding of branch circuit monitoring and metering integration.
• Familiarity with MV/LV transformer interfacing in DC electrical infrastructure is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and/or Solid Edge; EPLAN exposure is a plus.
• Sound understanding of IEC and IS standards for LV switchgear and control panels.
• Ability to independently engage with customers and OEM technical teams confident, clear, and precise

written and verbal communication.

• English and Hindi required; Marathi preferred.
