Job summary

Bold Technology Systems is seeking a senior SQL Database Administrator in India to support MS SQL databases, including Azure IaaS/PaaS and on‑premise setups. You will lead database maintenance, tuning, and implementation efforts, while coordinating incident, change, and problem-management activities.

The role focuses on performance optimization, data integrity, backups, and DR/HA strategies, with a view to scalable, secure data architectures and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience administering SQL Server in Azure IaaS/PaaS and on‑premise environments.
• Strong knowledge of database concepts, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with migrations, backups, DR/HA, and capacity planning.
• Proficient in scripting with PowerShell or Python for automation.
• Experience with Unix/Linux command line and monitoring tools.

Position Overview

BOLD seeks a senior professional to provide support for various MS SQL databases. This person will perform database structure and software maintenance and implementations, support database tuning and consultation, and assist with database configuration implementation. The person will also participate in incident, change, and problem-management activities

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of SQL Server (IaaS and PaaS based on Azure) and on-premise SQL Server setup.
• Strong understanding of Database concepts, SQL Architecture
• Automation experience with Powershell or Python
• Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux command line options.
• Experience on DB migrations, maintenance and optimization strategies
• Experience in implementing operational automation using automation tools / scripts.
• Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
• Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking & deadlocking
• Experience with data modelling, database architecture and design
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Azuer PAAS,MSSQL Server
• Capacity Planning (Backup Share, Disk, CPU, Memory etc.)
• Able to manage demanding stakeholders on technical solutions and align architects
