AT&T in Hyderabad, India is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to oversee enterprise databases across PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server and MySQL. You will handle installation, upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, DR, replication, cloud support in Azure and AWS, and security hardening at scale.

The role emphasizes high availability architecture, automation, incident/change/problem management, and 24x7 on-call support to ensure service reliability across large enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on database administration experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server administration in a highly available environment.
• Strong expertise in SQL tunning, index and query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Experience in administrating active/active GoldenGate Replication between multiple Data Centers.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain enterprise database platforms, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server and MySQL technologies.
• Perform backup, recovery, restore validation, and capacity planning to ensure business continuity and resilience.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning and optimization across enterprise environments.
• Design and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including replication and failover strategies.
• Administer database security controls, including access management, encryption, auditing, and compliance support.
• Support and manage cloud-based database environments across Azure and AWS.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for database operations, monitoring, maintenance, and deployment activities.
• Provide 24x7 on call support, Participate in incident, change and problem management processes to maintain stability and service reliability.
• Drive vulnerability remediation, configuration hardening, and compliance initiatives.

Senior Database Administrator

Job Summary

Senior Database Administrator responsible for enterprise database administration across PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and MySQL environments. Proven experience in database installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, replication, cloud database support in Azure and AWS, security administration, automation scripting, and operational support within incident, change, and problem management frameworks.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in high-availability architecture, replication, platform engineering, security hardening, automation, incident response, and operational excellence within large-scale enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain enterprise database platforms, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server and MySQL technologies.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on database administration experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server administration in a highly available environment

• Database Platforms: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL.
• Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Database Administration Tools: pgAdmin, SSMS, DBeaver, Toad, MySQL Workbench, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), GGSCI.
• High Availability / Disaster Recovery: Oracle Active Data Guard, MS SQL Server Always On, PostgreSQL Streaming Replication, MySQL Replication.
• Replication / Data Integration: Oracle GoldenGate, SQL Server Replication, PostgreSQL Logical Replication, MySQL Binary Log Replication.
• Architecture / Scalability: Oracle Data Guard with GDS integrated architectures, partitioning, connection pooling, read replicas, and sharding concepts.
• Monitoring / Performance: Oracle AWR, ASH, ADDM, OEM, SQL Trace, TKPROF, EXPLAIN PLAN, PostgreSQL EXPLAIN / EXPLAIN ANALYZE, vacuum, pg_stat_statements, auto_explain, pgBadger, Azure monitoring, Grafana, SQL Server Query Store, SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, MySQL EXPLAIN.
• Security / Access Management: Role-based access control, auditing, encryption, privileged access controls, and authentication integration.
• Automation / Scripting: Shell scripting, Python, PowerShell, SQL scripting, Bash.
• Backup / Recovery / Migration: Oracle RMAN, Data Pump, pg_dump, pg_restore, mysqldump, MySQL Enterprise Backup, SQL Server Backup/Restore.
• Operating Systems: Linux, Windows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-managed database services.
• Hands-on experience with automation using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Relevant certifications from Oracle, Microsoft, or AWS.
